Title: 1000cc Sportbike commonly reached speeds in mile
Post by: r1kurt on February 24, 2013, 04:21:02 PM: LSR nOOb here, I was wondering what are the speeds commonly reached on stock 1000cc sportbikes in a mile. For those that dragrace the same bike, I usually trap at 145+ in the quarter with stock gearing. And was curious if anyone could give me an idea of what I could POSSIBLY run in the mile, I have slightly taller than stock gearing and am very light. Bike will not be lowered at all (thats how it is dragraced) Any answers would be very helpful and appreciated,any advice would be great as well. Thanks guys and girls, Kurt J. Joe, my bike was new zx10, the bmws are faster.

My bike was reflashed and had a little engine work.

For the particular bike mentioned above, Kawasaki had to nutter it so it would pass the USA EPA sound level test. EPA test the bike by taking sound readings at 1/2 RPM of where peak HP occurs. Kawasaki removed timing above a certain RPM to lower where the peak HP occured.

The ZX10 does this as well, not sure of the % though. Reflashing the ecu removes this, I gained 8hp at peak hp rpm after flashing the ecu. Peak hp rpm is now 700-800 rpm higher.

I can change that! I made a r6 i am working on 1=1, 46=46 100=100TPS wise.

Post by: sabat on May 10, 2013, 01:38:03 PM: For sure a need at Maxton (RIP) for the bumps, but ground clearance is handy at any track for the heavy fork compression in shutdown.
