Title: LSR Tires
Post by: azgearhed on February 03, 2013, 02:01:06 PM
I am trying to find out what is out there in the way of 30-32" tires. I have GY 28" right now and want to run a taller, slightly wider tire.

Mickey Thompson and Dunlop both make a 30" and 32" tire. I have seen the Dunlops run at speeds of about 250 MPH. Look in to these tires.

The good thing about your goodyear tires is that they fit on a 15 inch wheel. The mickey thompson  land speed tire and dunlop vintage formula one tire  fit on a 18 inch wheel and those wheels are hard to find. rumor has it nate jones has good stash of mickey thompson tires, and if you have noticed  pretty much every fast car at bonneville runs mickeys. Good luck in your quest. And I would still try and talk to the tire gurus tom burkland, al teague or marlo treit.

I know that a first class operation like yours has a backup item for all of the project.

Tires would be one of the first items that you would have in storage.

Ask your brother but don't bring it up with your father.

These 8:00-18 'Stones could be for sale. Powder coated American Rally wheels  5 on 4.5. Tabs but no wheel covers. Good sidewalls and shaved tread. Expensive. PM if interested.
