I have an 1988 S-10 CHEVY p.u. THAT HAS BEEN RUN IN THE MINI MODIFIED CLASS. It comes with a log book. It's the std. cab long wheel base model. It has a double hoop roll cage most of the items to make it an easy rebuild to current requirements. It has a 9" Ford diff with 2.90 gears. The hood has a tall Z28 type scoop and the front bumper has a spoiler grafted on. It has after market axles and an auto shifter. It had a powerglide in it. As a 'D' class PU it had a 283 bored .060 (292) with GM camel hump heads and a flat tappet cam and a Victor Jr w/ a 650 Holley. It ran a top speed of 166mph with this mild combo. It has Goodyear front runner tires and Coil over rear shocks. Also modified front end for some caster. The bed has a tin cover over it and in the bed is a fuel cell. This rig would be perfect for 2 or 3 guys to go in on and run at WOS in the 150mph class. A mild 350 would do it. Then you could decide if you wanted to put a 4 speed in it and some big HP's and go class racing. $1500 is all I'm asking. I paid more then that for it so make any trade offers reasonable. The fellow I got it from claims he had $5500 in the truck not counting running gear. I'm in Olympia Wa. and would meet you half way for a fee. George 360 481 3368

I want this.
Consider it sold.
-
George,
Are you at liberty to tell us whose truck this was?
DW
-
I think it's sold. Thanks. DW, I'll go out to the shop and see if I can find the log, he was from Spokane wa. If that helps
-
Not yet.

Been too busy lately, sorry for the delay.
Here's a pic:

Rats. I looks like I cannot acquire the S-10. I think I'm making a big mistake by not getting it, but I got "outvoted". I ASSumed everything on my end was fine, then got surprised.
I know George has a local buyer as well in the hopper.
:-(

any current pictures of interior, rollcage, etc?what size was/is the driver
-
Just tell the other voter you are getting a good deal on a set of cylinder heads. Don't say anything about the truck they are attached to.
-
I was reminded that I've said running a Minitruck in DT class while legal, defeats the spirit of the rules. They are right.
Someone who isn't as dumb as I am will soon realize that a modern Duramax diesel in a minitruck will go past 250mph on a 166? record. 1000 hp in a minitruck will go pretty fast.
^ If you wanted to do it cheap, there's the truck ^
A stock engine will put it to 200mph and a redhat.
-
This truck is still for sale. Easy and inexpensive way to go LSRing. World of speed 150 club allows up to 159.9 mph. That would give you a good idea if you wanted to buy one of Tom's D Buick engines and go fast.

I'm sorta interested, only thing is I live in central oh. How far would meeting half way be? Jim

Great example here of why it's nice to fill in the profile completely - including your LOCATION! We'd know where racergeo is located if he'd been so kind, wouldn't we?

 :-D

My point is that if the profile information blank for location had been filled in properly -- there'd be no need to mention his location in any specific post, and it'd be clear to all -- no digging back required. :-D :-D
-
A couple of points , a guy called about this PU but I "considered it sold" so didn't even get his name or phone no. also my phone number is in my ad. How hard is it to call me for details if your realy interested? Just say'n LOL
-
ON the same "just sayin'" line -- how much hassle is it to fill in your location on the registration page? Just askin' :-) :-)
-
I am pretty sure that was my youngest son, Werner, that was calling you. He has an S-10 and a bad case of the speed fever. He is going into the Marine Corps on the 3rd of March and he is flat broke. I am not sure if he shared that vital information.
-
let me check with a auto transit outfit ,and see what they say.
-
I looked on-line ,and listed my number. I've got 4 calls in 20 mins. All around 1000.00. If you where closer I'd buy it. Thanks for your time Jim
-
WOW. If my wife wasn't starting a business I'd be all over this. My 500 HP 327 and GV added to this would be kinda fun.
-
that would be a no on current pictures?
-
Just remembered, have a set of either 2.75 or 3.0 NASCAR gears with the REM finish that reduces drag by 7HP. Will include which even set you want. Current ratio is 2.90. Rear axles are Currie. Step up and become a racer rather then a want-a-be.

FYI it takes 900 hp to go over 210 mph in N/A gas, I have too much experience in these classes.. I have wind tunnel data, real data and real dyno data... Last truck I built we did in 90 days and set numerous records, one still stands...

If no one has spoken for this yet I want to be in line to buy it. I am very interested. Send me a PM and we can talk about the details.
This is my first post but I am not a spammer!
I have been a lurker on this site but never had a need to post anything yet!
Thank you very much and have a good day, Gary

So, Mr. Buickracer69-- welcome to the fun of being a participating member of the Forum. But I've gotta ask -- if you've been lurking for a while, haven't you seen the endless parade of posts from Glen or me asking new registrants to please go to the registration page and enter your location (city & state is good enough) so we know where you're located? Go do it, please. And then we'll all have a better idea of how far you'll have to go to get this truck (if you buy it).
Whatever the hassle -- welcome once again.

This race truck is no longer for sale. Thanks for you interest. :-)

Hmmm.... thanks for sharing your wisdom.... which N/A Gas record over 200mph do you hold Bob?
I'm glad you finally got it sold George... we need more trucks out there setting those open records! Hope to see it on the salt soon Gary!
