Title: Entry Forms
Post by: Stan Back on March 08, 2012, 03:08:24 PM
2012 Entry Forms are posted on the SCTA website.  The early entry deadline has been moved up this year, so don't wait 'til forever and miss the deadline.

Thanks for that notice, Mr. SB.  To everyone else:  Please note that Mr. SB as well as Joann Carlson (SCTA office person, etc) are trying to slightly change the official way of spelling the name of the big August event to "SpeedWeek".  If you didn't notice it -- they (and I) like having the "w" capitalised.

I guess ignorance really is bliss.  I always thought it was SpeedWeek.

Jon (Jahn, John, Jhon like the golfer, Juan, etc.)

We're not trying to change the way it's spelt, just standardize it.  And Joann is JoAnn, probably the reason we're doing it (not).

Here in San Berdoo, we have a street named Base Line.  It was the surveying base line in 1620 or whatever.  In its length it's spelt Base Line, Baseline, Base Line St., Baseline St., Base Line Ave., Baseline Ave. and maybe some more.

But Base Line is still Base Line, no matter how it's spelt.

As is Speedweek, SPEEDWEEK, Speed Week, and SpeedWeek.

(By the way, the campaign is 3 years old and hasn't made much progress.)

As is Speedweek, SPEEDWEEK, Speed Week, and SpeedWeek.

Stan

Or in my case it can be spelled SpeedWeak.

I apologise, JoAnn.  I do know how to properly type your name -- just goofed.  As for SW - maybe I'll just give up and abbreviate it as I did here.

As an old Californian I think Baseline(et all) becomes Foothill Blvd somewhere along it's length. Near where I was brought up, way West of SB.

BNI chairman Miriam Macmillan sends this photo of the salt taken last night at 7 P.M.  Perhaps Ferd can enhance it for you.  Don't forget to take advantage of the Pre-Entry savings.  The deadline this year is May 10, not the 15th as in previous years.

The image is too small to put any effort into it.

I know you Barbarians are a day (or hour?) later, but we're still waiting for your entry.

Coming soon, its not the 10th yet and Orosi is close to Clovis.

Barbarians... thats the name of the district 37 motorcycle club that Fast Freddy and I use to race the Desert under. Barstow to Vegas was one of the longest races. Bruce Voughn [Bville inspector] belonged to the Buzzards.

Santa Barbarians but the Santa got dropped :-)

Stan:

Is the driver's medical form on the scta site the correct one to use instead of the "blank driver medical form for your convenience" that wasn't enclosed with my entry approval notice?

Thanks!

Mike

Let me see here.  There was a Medical Form enclosed with most entry packets.  And looking at mine, it looks the same as the fillable pdf on the SCTA website.  Your entry confirmation (I'm sure all have not been sent out yet) probably didn't include the confirmation as one was enclosed with the entry packet sent to BNI members.  But, to be safe, and do an easy job, use the one on the website.  I'm sure they'll be available in Inspection.

Don't tell anyone, but some of us that run El Mirage have a sorta master form which we've copied and update on a monthly basis.
