Title: Is it OK to modify the firewall for turbo clearance (Diesel Truck Class)
Post by: SteveM on March 07, 2012, 01:20:40 PM
Is it allowable to modify the firewall (build a small set-back "box" for the turbo to sit in) in the Diesel Truck classes?   Since these vehicles are subject to the Gas Coupe rules, I wasn't sure if the firewall needed to remain 100% stock, or if I can modify a portion of it to give clearance for the turbocharger.

As always, any advice is appreciated.

Steve.

In the Gas Coupe class(now including DT) the modification to the fender wells, firewall and floor boards to accomendate an engine/trans swap has been allowed. Your question about building a box in the firewall for turbo clearance is answered in the affirmative.
