Title: Anyone running a SBF on this forum? Looking for transmission options
Post by: craigibc on January 10, 2012, 01:48:51 AM
Land Racing,

I am sure alot of you have already see the motor(blown 302) I have in my car(62 Ford Falcon). I am looking for the best choice of transmissions for this car. Right now I have a C4 in the car and I am considering my options on what transmission will be best for racing at the dry lakes. I am hoping for some 150 mile + passes in the next year.

Hoping someone on here is using a SBF and could give me some good advice on what transmission will be best to achieve the kinds of speed that I am looking at with this car.

Thanks again everyone for your advice!

Craig

Call Liberty Gears 313.278.4040 ask for Brad. They make great T-5 transmissions and its good place to start looking

no reason to not use the 67 to 75 era iron toploader
or if finances permit a "take-out" jerico from a "cup car".

I do not feel that a " T-5"  is up to the task.
even a super face plated unit from liberty or anyone else.
you do not need the overdrive gear that a T-5 has.
