Since last August was my first time to visit Bonneville, I now feel "certified" to go to the reunion. We did just move to Oregon. I'll be bringing my daughter Rizzy too. I must say we were cordiality invited to go to the Reunion at Bonneville by Johnny Hot Nuts and then Marlo too. So, we should know at least two people there.

Sounds like a nice tradition to start.

Happy New Year to all.  :-D

Hello Stainless - -

I will surely give Rizzy a big hug from you and the crew of Bockscar. Often when I shop for hardware and I mention the word stainless, her ears pop up and she says did you say "Stainless?"  Then we would have a small conversation about the fun we had spending time in your pits at Speedweek, all the way up to and including the red hat and the bottle of champagne we happen to have in our car. You all helped make our first B'ville experience one to remember. We look forward to a reunion on the salt with everyone.

In the meantime, I'm sure Rizzy and I will mention your name a few times at the NW Reunion since we now have real Bonneville experiences to talk about to all the nice friends we met there. Our first Bonneville experience was one for the memory books and I hope our first NW reunion would be on the same level.

With anxiety . . .

How about keeping those cards and letter coming with a check enclosed.

Time is getting short and I need more guests to make it happen.

Hello Glen - -

Thanks, for sure, my daughter Rizzy and I will have a great time at our first NW Reunion. Sorry you will not be there. Allow me to quickly thank you for helping to orientate me on this forum to our first trip to the salt flats on the what to do's and to avoid all that "double sunshine" (coming down and reflecting up) and I didn't bring a mini bike for the pits either. My E-Z GO golf cart did the trick for me.

Oh yes, congratulations again on that award you received at Speedweek. I guess it was just a "matter of timing."  :-D

Doors open at 5:00. . . lets eat!

If you have a friend to whom you are indebted, buy him a ticket and bring him along.

You will have met your obligation and he will do something for you so you will bring him again next year.

Stainless, If I survive this damn NorthWest fungal lung crud that I have been fighting for the last three weeks, I plan on being at the Reuniion.
Even if  I am not well, You and all other's interested would still be welcome any day anytime keeping in mind that I will have hired off duty airport scanner folk's with a special emphasis on "cavity search's", this being the result of your last visit.
Remember, pets, small children and straight laced women would enter "AT THIER OWN RISK" as old pizza crust and lost underwear  may reappear from who knows where at any time...........  and that's not to mention hairball's..........................  Bob

Bob, try upping the quantity of chili peppers in your diet.  Try the little green ones that loosen up everything in your lungs, make you sweat, and wish you would die.  About half the time this works.

We will be there.  Werner and Gretchen are coming this year.

Freud...(And you other attendees...) Thanks for a great night. The hairs on the back of my neck are still standing up from Dave Davidson`s Roadster Video.....On another topic--I saw and talked with Bruce Geisler today, and he is much improved. Under the weather and a mix-up in some Meds made him a non starter yesterday, but he is on the mend.....Cheers, Everyone! :-D

THANKS for offering to be his escort to the banquet.

In a most low key manner and voice Dave held the audience, didn't he?????

Dave gave a great talk, and revealed some fascinating stuff about the Roadster... 6200 lbs... wow! Food was great, but best of all was the chance to see everyone, and visit.

 Thanks again Freud

Thanks for a great reunion Doc, Dave did a great job, was a lot like a racer talking about his car to another racer... good video as well.
Enjoyed talking to everyone
The PT Boat is a must see, the Big Packard Motors are so cool... one running sounds great, would love to hear all 3.  I hope to make it back up during one of their events when it is out running on the water.

It takes a few days for me to get back in my own lane after the banquet and I am beginning to catch up.

I plan to try to get a note to everyone that attended but maybe this will cover some people that I miss.

The Friday night prayer service was brought to my attention by Tanis Hammond. THANK YOU TANIS.

She sent me an e-mail and Marlo helped me link up with them. They were as easy for me to deal with

as they were for you to listen to. The Friday Evening, while sparsely attended, has become a

very enjoyable feature. From the SR-71, a F104 race car to a PT boat.  Rather high level.

I appreciate everyone of you that has attended the reunion during this economic slump.

Apparently it's worth having the oxygen bottle by GrandPa's bed until he gets better.

Let's see what happens next year.

Hello Freud - -

Thanks for the work you did to pull together the 2012 Reunion. It was my first for my daughter Rizzy and I. It was nice meeting you for the first time and I enjoyed the several conversations we had over the weekend. My daughter also thanks you for the red rose she and all the women received. After the Reunion we left Portland and headed to the Oregon coast for a few days. Rizzy keep reminding me how nice that red rose looked and smelled on our extended trip down the beautiful Oregon coast.

Back to the reunion. I had the honor of meeting many of the guests there since it was our first time. I met Wobbly Walruss and his family, talked with Stainless, Ray the Rat and Marlo and several of his team members. I also had the pleasure to meet a few of the old boys with the Danny Boy liner, who are in the middle of a new-improved liner build. And if you think I am a name dropper here, yes I am since I'm still so new, it makes me feel involved and a member of a fine group, no doubt. That tour of the PT 658 boat was one to remember. I had thought I rather see a race car shop as a tour, but I have no regrets on the PT boat look-see and to hear that 16 cyclinder Packard engine from WWII start up. It made the boat a real live WWII artifact. Rizzy liked that boat tour too. She also enjoyed helping out to sell the 50/50 tickets and helping to hand out the prises during the banquet. Thanks for including her. Se was excited all weekend. I think she, my only child, will follow in my future salt footsteps. This Bonneville Reunion was part of that process.

I listened to every word Dave Davidson said when he spoke about his 304 mph run. I was surprised to find out some facts about his roadster that I would not have guessed. It's weight is over 6,000 pounds. No suspension front or rear. He runs the same rear gear at Bonneville as at Elmo.

Here is a fun question for this forum: Dave runs some nitro - so, how many gallons of fuel do you think Dave runs for each run, including his over 300 mph run?  A.  4 gallons  B. 14 gallons  C.  24 gallons  D. 34 gallons.  Here is a hint: if he runs the long course at Bonneville, he shuts off, I'm told, at around the 3.3 mile mark. I'll post the correct answer tomorrow.

Dave said he would be at the first Elmo meet this year in May. I said see you there.

In case you weren't sure yet, Rizzy and I had a great time at the Reunion. It was a good way to take my winter salt fever off the back burner and put it on the front burner.

Thanks again Freud and to Ray for taking all those pictures.

Bill

Mike, I wasn't one on assignment. Ray Therat and Dave Kaplan generated the images

and they haven't shared them with me as yet.

So I am waiting to see them just as is everyone else.

Ray had a computer refresh job that took him way beyond being a fotog at a banquet.

He took a long way around flight to get home and is in a recovery mode at this time.

I am certain that fotos will magically appear afore long.

There may be some on www.bonevillenwreunion.com. I haven't looked but I

have done a post for Target550.com and it will be on by Friday.
