Title: Looking for the Indian sponsor
Post by: GreyCrazy on December 17, 2011, 09:51:00 PM
This year at Speed Week I spoke a long time with the guys at the Indian pit.  They were just a few spaces down from us at the Avanti Kid Racing pit.  I wanted very much to buy a team shirt but their extras were back home, and they said I could get one from their company website.  Of course, I've been searching for a long time and can't find it.

Who can point me in the right direction?  I'd still really like to lend my small support and buy a shirt if I could find them and they have any left.

Grey, was it by chance the Indian from Denmark called the Salt Cracker. If so there is a lot on the bike and build in the build section. Go to the members section and look up octane, his name is Lars Neilsen and I have one of his shirts. I have his e-mail if it's not listed . send me a PM and I will send to you.

Speaking of Lars/Octane -- has anyone been in contact with him recently?  He had the catastrophe awaiting when he returned to Denmark - bad, BAD landlord and all of that -- and we haven't heard but once from him since then - as far as I know.  I hope he's muddling through and am worried by his absence here.
If you know anything -- let us all know, please.  Maybe there's something we can do to help him get through the holiday season.

I don't think that's the same one, but it sounds awesome.  This was definately a shop in California.  I'll look back at my pictures and see if I can find an entry number, or Dave Bloomberg might be able to help me figure out what their pit was.  It was our first year visiting and we didn't know enough about getting the numbers and other stuff like that....but we'll never make that mistake again.  LOL

Found it!

682B 1650CC APS-PG  Phantom II 121.727 120.723 121.835

This is a result from the short course on August 18.  Can anyone tell me who races this motorcycle?  I realize it would probably be a miracle if they have even a single shirt left but I just have to try.  LOL  I've got some pictures of it if photos are allowed on here.  It's a really beautiful machine.

I think I figured out how to attach photos!  I'll try that after work tonight.

Number 682 isn't listed in the program, so posting here is probably my best source to identify the guys.

682B was listed in the SW results at 108 mph. name listed was Phantom II, 650 cc....APS-VG.  No other information on him. You might contact Joanne at the SCTA office and see if she has the intro on that number.

That bike is owned by Johnny that works at "The Shop" In Ventura, he will be there this year, he is now hooked!  The Shop is owned by Dave Hansen and specializes in Indians. His shop is a museum of Indian stuff, a must see. Dave, Vance Breese and I set a record in the 750 class about 12 or so years ago of 128mph, with a open vintage bike. I can give you a phone number if you Email me.
