Title: 55 Gal Drum Nitromethane

Well I will be going to NC in the next few months, and Bonneville in August, and usually in Southern California every few months....

It needs some headroom, same reason we can't load our tankers to the dome lid.

Post by: Bob Drury on December 08, 2011, 08:32:51 PM:   Keep in mind that 1 gallon of Nitromethane weighs 9.4 lbs. That means that a 53 gallon drum weighs 498 pounds not including the drum. It takes two people to tip them up to get a handtruck under them.
  Believe me, I know. I hauled eight drums from Carson City, Nevada to Vancouver about six years ago.
  That was right before Homeland Security went nuts because of the Oklahoma City Federal Building bombing by that piece of crap, Timothy McVey. He had two 55 gallon drums of VP Nitro surrounded by bags of ammonium nitrate (fertilizer) in the rental truck.
  Now to buy or have it, you have to go through MSDS training and are supposed to have Hazzardous Material flags on your trailer. Bob
