Title: For the Last Time at Maxton - THANKS to all the Volunteers!
Post by: Dan Stokes on November 02, 2011, 04:07:02 PM
As always our excellent volunteers knocked it out of the park. We had a TON of vols and needed them - the whole meet ran really smoothly. It was a HUGE meet with something near 150 entries so we all worked hard to get everyone as many runs as possible.

The oildown from Terry Russell's truck on Saturday evening was cleaned up efficiently and I want to thank all who chipped in to handle this. There was nearly a mile of oil on the track!

So it's out with the old and in with the new.

So Terry's truck goes into Maxton history as the last oil-down.

Thanks to all.  The rain and cold did not in any way dampen the warm hospitality and friendliness Kate and I encountered last weekend.

If not for the volunteers, this sport wouldn't exist, so on behalf of those who ran, we're humbled by your service.

The event was well run, and the only regret is that we can't come back.

Well done, ECTA.  Hope to see everyone next April in Ohio.

You're welcome!  We do so all of us (even some of us vols) can mash the pedal and see what happens.  The Sprite (or is that a Midget?) was fun to see.

You're right on the Legos thing - Legos are bigger.

Dan,Dan it's definetly a Midget. My Sprite had an entirely different shift knob.

I'm not in the habit of looking at other mens' shift knobs!  But the name "Milwaukee Midget" might have given me a clue - if I was one to pick up on the subtle.
