Barrett, are you crewing with Vesco?
FREUD
Chris, we don't have a directional pickup for the cars and bikes as they run past the pits. Something to work on, eh? We got a slow start this a.m., the same glitch that slowed our first webcast last year. We keep learning and have a few things on the list for next year.
Trent, I think they are running XXO/BGL

Concerning Peggy's Pickup -- was that front end available on El Caminos?

Saltcat sets record at 204 mph. Congrats
We use a PC to webcast as Meridix, our carrier, does not have Mac source compatible software. Jon is getting the webcast on his Macbook in their truck. It should be working for all Macs. I'm a Mac guy at home.
If the minimum speed for entrance into the 200 mph club is 210, wouldn't that make it the 210 mph club?
If the minimum speed for entrance into the 200 mph club is 210, wouldn't that make it the 210 mph club?I set a 219.648 MPH record in 2010 SW. The minimum is 220 MPH in the F/BFMR Class. NO HAT
It was the driveshaft which went to h*ll when the pinion yoke snapped. It beat itself into a pretzel shape, punched some holes in the floor pan and destroyed the exhaust.
Great coverage of the Granite Falls project. We ALL need to encourage efforts like it IMHOP.
RTR, my condolences. There are two OUTSTANDING driveshaft fabricators in yrs truly's area.
Inland empire Driveline in Guasti, Ca. and Ed Moore Drivelines in San Bernardino, Ca. Both understand racers needs.
Moore, incidently is the former driver ot the "MOB" fuel altered and ,in his engine building days, built the motor for '55 Chevy that paced the local San Berdoo Doctor on his bicycle, to, at that time, the fastest ever human vehicle speed.
The good Doctor ran to the Salt Flats from Wendover each race day, by the way.
Any other you/us dudes ever did that? Or wanna try?
Dr F?
.
Congrats to John Stege for the 220mph unblown sidecar record!
We're just ending a quick hold to look for the video camera from Stainless' Bockscar. It was searched for, sought, and seeked -- and can't be found, so we're getting ready to resume running. Stewards are back in position to resume.
120 or so registered land speed racers, plus about 85 130 Club cars (per Ron on the radio) at this event.

At least I found my phone..
Try going to Meridix, on their link for fans there is a support botton on the top of the page. The support page, scroll down to the hints for Firefox and Mac OS. They tell you what players you might need.
TMAN, with only one long course and the 130/150 course the lines get long.
Jon, I think the CB speaker is to close to Ron's Mic. As it is hard to understand the CB.I agree with that, it would be helpful if you repeated the essentials of whats announced on the CB.
Over modulating.
Looking at the folks logged in would lead me to believe productivity is in the crapper today! :-D
absolutely one of my favorite guys..... on the starting line is a good way to go out..... RIP buddy

I had the pleasure of talking with some of the kids today.
Hope they get the Salt bug, too.
Ray, Sidecar? Naw just a little ol' Sportster that eats bearings.
She picked a newer higher priced bearing to dine on this afternoon.
The ones in the turbo......
The spare is in for one last all-in pass at 8 AM.....

T2011 increased their speed by a little more than 10% over yesterday to 29.83870 mph ! And then we did something really bold...we read the engine manual section about fuel and governor control, yup = some adjustments and behind the pit driving; we figure we now are giving it the fuel it needs and not the "black smoke" more. Going for an early morning "thick HP/Speed air" run.....
the bigger event today was the visiting 6th grade Morningside Elementary class from Salt Lake City - all of a sudden there was a flurry of activity in and near our pit area - lots of learning and exploring resulting in a great group photo.
The reception and connections made here have been just wonderful - thank you all.....
Sound check?
Does anyone know if Charlie Reno wen ofer 251 on his return run? AA/BGas Modified
Tegan up yet?
How many cars left for returns?
Thanks.
We came, we went really fast, we went to impound for the 5th time in 3 years, then we broke... big time.

It speaks volumes to your effort that everything held together with the exception of the one piece the category won't permit you to replace.
Congratulations on the time slip! Next year?
the goal remains ~ the first V4F roadster to go 150 mph. Anyone out there have any 1928 Dodge Fast Four blocks? Let us know!

And after the meal - which was the most unworldly event in which we've participated in Wendover in all of the meals taken here in the past decade (see me privately for a detailed explanation)
Montana Boys, did you get the record you were after? It looks like you'all made a down run, a return run, and there was enough engine there in the impound to measure the displacement.
Reality replacing fantasy.
We all know what that's like.
FREUD
Ray, try and run that one broken stud out and insert a bolt for some piece of mind!
And looking at your tranny, the way the YOKE sheard off I would look at someone like Mark Williams for some better strength stuff.
I think Tony was out there in '09 with the Monte - I'm pretty sure I met him.
Take it from me, Wisconsin is a L O N G drive home with a nonfunctional car in tow.
Ray, I saw you but never got a chance to say "HI". The last time I saw Sparky I was pushing him off the course a little further for safety until Skip got to him. I had the honor of being "short course" (which was the first 3 miles of the long course) roving patrol just like last year. While I got to see an awful lot of runs, I didn't get much time for goofing around in the pits. If you could have heard me cheering on the Landracing.com participants from the confines of my pickemup, you would have been pleased. :-) Wayno
Ray -
Sorry to hear about your calamity, but it has given me pause for thought. Even with a loop, that's a lot of damage.
The one component in my drive train I hadn't even given a thought to was the driveshaft.
I'm running 4.22's, and I'd hate to see what might happen if it were to cut loose at 7G.
It'll be going in for a balance job, at a minimum.
Have fun at the Shoot Out.
And again, as always, great photojournalism!

I've got to agree with the concensus - a 2 piece mandates a carrier bearing, another set of splines, and the need to balance both driveshafts, and to do it right, both together.
The drive shaft in a Monte isn't so long as to have to go that way - lots of examples of that basic drivetrain running really fast in NASCAR, NHRA, Sportsman class.
I suspect that it was just your turn to have one break.
But I'd still try to shove it up Denny's deuterostome blastopore.
