Is there another camp site other than the KOA in wendover, a family owned place or something. I have a friend from work who is hitching a ride with his parents out west and they want to stay for speedweek during the weekend. I have tried to talk them into just stayig at the bend but a/c and hookups are a must with them it seems. They are on the waiting list at KOA but i told them not to hold their breath. Wells looking like their next option?

As I remember -- there's a brand-newly-built campground right behind the Shell station in Wendover, Utah. It was under construction last fall - but I expect is done now. I "assume" it's related to the Nugget casino/hotel - 'cause it's right next to that place -- but I'm not sure.
Google the Wendover Visitor Welcome Center (it's in West Wendover, NV) and ask Linda or Kerri about it - and if there's anything else. Sorry I don't have her email or phone number -- they're on the laptop that I don't have right now. See you on the salt.

Thanks Slim. Emailed them both. Googled "camping in wendover" and it shows the Nugget as one listing but their site doesn't have any info that I could find.
