I saved up in high school and bought an Edelbrock manifold and tall air cleaner for my 1970 Camaro. I hope the employees land somewhere softly.

Sad to hear. Some employees are being shifted to the foundry.
Not much need for speed equipment with new administration unless it is powered by electricity.
IMO, I would not be surprised to see California declare bankruptcy. The EDD dept gave out over 12 Billion Dollars to people in Jail, overseas, etc. never checking to see if the claims were legit. The news says it could be over 20 Billion when it is all said and done. Someone in California will have to pay for the EDD incompetency, and that will be me and every other tax payer in this state. That is why smart people are moving out.

Come on Tom, you don't want to see your prisoners and illegal immigrants struggle do you?
Besides, I'd bet most of that money came from the feds, so my and everyone else's pocket... at least those of us that pay taxes.

Keep in mind, A LOT of companies are leaving California for greener pastures. Same is happening here in NYC.

????....Racing? Looks like I need to order the F.I for the big block a little sooner.

I have been trying to get a set of the cast Aluminum valve covers for my 351c, keeps getting pushed back month after month. Guess I know now why. Guess it will be the Trick Flow cast covers...

Been talked about over on the HAMB for a week. The foundry in San Jacinto/Hemet doesn?t have room for every one.
Bean counters will kill it in the long run but the name will stay along with Comp Cams under the same umbrella. The Electric cars won?t need heads or intakes.
Politicians don?t care because we don?t have PAC?s. Sad but true. If the little guys/suppliers all fold we will be done... Think.. Isky is a ?little guy?.. hope for the best and plan on ..... whatever you can

Not much need for speed equipment ...

...when people have fell out of love with cars. Today's young men buy gaming computers, not car parts. Some people earn a living playing video games on Twitch.
BTW Edelbrock is owned by Evanston, Ill.-based Industrial Opportunity Partners, not the Edelbrock family.
BTW 2 Mexicans are returning to Mexico, because they can make more money in Mexico than they can in the USA.

Stainless, it is my understanding that the Feds gave the states an extra $300 a week over what California gives the individual per week. So yes we that pay Federal Tax will be paying for the $300 a week that the Federal Government gave the States.
So long story short, California borrows money and pays interest on money borrowed to pay some legit and some non legit claims. They will either go and tax businesses a higher rate for unemployment insurance to pay back the loan, put a special tax on something that John Q. Californian buys, or hope for Government Relief of some sort. We will just have to wait and see how this plays out.

The Edlebrock product catalogs are on-line. Most of everything are for American V-8 engines. There are a few exceptions. No hot rodders under age 55 or 60 is working on those in our neighborhood, as best as I can see. They are hopping up, blasting around, and making a lot of noise in little Jap cars, and mainly Hondas. Edlebrock did not adapt to the changing market is my best guess.

When I was a teenager we played with the stuff that was accessible; an 1100 cc Mini with a 1275 head, twin carbs and 100 mph. The young lads today can pick up a tatty rice rocket for no $ that is already faster than anything we dreamed of. Then they spend their pocket money on bling. They will then spend, over time, more on paint and a sound system than we spent (era adjusted dollars) on an engine. They cannot afford the older steel because it costs a fortune just to buy the project car / truck.
For us adults; the mags are full of V8 builds, hot rods and etc. and you can still buy 350 Chevy crate engines (I just did for my 56 pickup) so Edelbrock should still have a healthy market - 'we' collectively spend a fortune on old cars, repro parts, engine s etc. it is a thriving business sector and will be until the last pump runs dry - I am using my share before it runs out.
I used an Edelbrock inlet and etc. so they got some of my ?'s recently.
Something else is going on - poor management using covid as the 'get out of business with no costs' card or further off shoring production?

Face it! That's what they said when the Side Curtains and Motometer businesses started hurtin'.

They can always get jobs building solar panels..For racing of course.

Excellent! Thanks for link, sounds like they are in for the long haul, and taking care of their people.
"Meantime, Edelbrock has offered to relocate many of its 270 Torrance-based employees to either Olive Branch (Mississippi), Cerritos, or San Jacinto. "

Yes, good news.

That is good to read. The A2 wind tunnel is in Mooresville along with a bunch of auto racing type businesses. That is where they will be relocating their racing group. It makes sense.
