I'm looking to finally get my butt in gear and get the winch mounted inside a box on thebtrailer instead of on a hitch mount. (That way is a pain in the arse)
I'm looking for an a frame trailer box, 36x16x 20 high or there abouts. My fear is the thin aluminum ones as the reviews say the kids don't like to open and close after someone sits on them or looks at them sideways.
Protoolboxes.com has a nice .100 thick aluminum box. The only one I could find close or thicker was double the price.
Anyone have any recommendations or experience?
It's going on an aluminum featherlite 20ft 3110 trailer.
Plan is to build a steel bracket inside to mount the s5000 superwinch inside, as well as the battery, cut a flap in the back of the box for a fairlead and the. Mount a solar panel on the top for a trickle charger. And have a steel plate (actually two since the frame is in The way) under neath so the bracket boost don't rip through the aluminum.
