Maybe this should have a new thread but I'm not going to wait to
announce that the Guessed Speaker at the Bonneville NW Reunion
for 2014 is DAN WARNER.
I'm going to have an open question time so he can answer your
questions regarding why he yanked your hard earned record.
That should be interesting........
Welcome to our reunion February 22, 2014

I am making the arrangements for Pay Pal to send your money.
If you use it you will still have to send me a roster of those attending.
I'll post what's needed for your registration to be complete.
FREUD

You can now pay with Pay Pal but only if you list it as a GIFT.
The account is freudbouy@aol.com.
I expect Stainless to use this by Friday evening.
Then I will need an e-mail that lists the names and addresses of the people that will be attending.
I need that for the registration list.
If there is a problem call me at 425-422-6944.

BR
-
Bill......we are doin' OK.
I have an addition person to inform us.
Tony Thacker, previously from NHRA Museum and SEMA, will tell us about
the new WORLD of SPEED Museum that is being built in Wilsonville, OR.
Their ground breaking will be February 18 so it's going to be
a happening.
FREUD

Is Stainless's show-and-tell set for 7:30 Friday?
-
YES on 7:30. I'll have to check and see if he is staying on Mountain Time.
FREUD

Actually I live in central time zone, but I will be flying from mountain to pacific so any zone but eastern works for me....
See you there
-
Is Stainless's show-and-tell set for 7:30 Friday?
Is this at the Shilo Inn?
Don
-
Yes, planning on one of the conference rooms upstairs.... We arrive semi early Friday, and I will find Freud and see what we have. Hopefully a big flatscreen or a computer projector...
With any luck I'll do half as good as the PT Boat guys did, and be 10% as interesting as Marlo
-
Stainless......those were the two topics I had planned to grade you on.
FREUD
-
The registration is closed.
We have a new person to add to our speakers list.
Tony Thacker just supervised the ground breaking for the new
WORLD OF SPEED Museum in Wilsonville, OR. He will have a few
minutes to tell us what will be happening with this World Class Auto Museum.
See all of you there.
FREUD
-
Freud, valued ELMO RODGE RACING team member Steve Otten will be represented us. Treat him well. He's a darned fine Human. :-D Wayno
-
I have already done his name tag so that gets him a seat at a table.
He just can not bring his own beer.
The hotel frowns on that.
Now that I know he represents you he can have a grass hopper in his salad.
FREUD
-
Freud,
Does the Hotel frown on bringing beer to Stainless's presentation for Stainless?
If so there will be a tactical change implemented.
Don

For those who find themselves bored on Saturday and have wheels, All are welcome to stop by my place and see all my bling.
There are certain rules however: No commenting on the dust bunnies, I consider them pet's.
Women and clean freaks may be shocked at how I live!
If you are allergic to cats or dogs you are sure as sh*t at the wrong place.
If you want wine or beer, you better bring it.
Children may be mistreated for kick's.
Any and all are subject to a strip search before leaving (blame it on Stainless).
time: 10 to 3 p.m. "One Run" Bob Drury
address: 919 n.e. 82nd ave. p.s. I am about 15 minutes (5 or 6 miles) North of the Shiloh Inn so if you head North over the I-205
bridge, you are already half way there!

Bob: When we were in Portland for the Reunion a few years ago I visited your house. do you remember if Nancy was with me? I don't know -- but do know that if she was there, she did manage to escape with her morals intact. The blower on the coffee table makes it all understandable to one and all.
-
Come to think of it, my favorite necklace and ear rings are missing.
Would that be a good enough reason to demand a strip search (of Her, not You)?

Hope everyone has a great time at the NWLSR banquet. I have been to many and always had a great time. Can't make it this year but tip one for me and see you on the salt.

Just got off the phone with Herr Freudenberger and He confirmed the starting times.

Mike, you qualify as a out of towner so you are legally elgible to stop by Saturday . There may be twenty people or two (me and you?) but I am sure there is something here to entertain yourself. If all else fails I will drag out my box of 1960's MAD Magazines and you will discover why I am slightly twisted (according to Stainless, the swine).
Bob
-
Bob:
There's hope for you after all - if you've got Mad from the 60s. I started reading Mad in the 50s and sometime late in that decade or early in the 60s I got a subscription to the magazine. I was the envy of the others in 6th grade at Chikaming Consolidated School #39 but the bane/brilliant kid of my parents. They were proud that I wanted a magazine subscription (feeling, as they did, that it proved that I was a great early bloomer that wanted a magazine subscription, but sorrowful that it was for something as silly as Mad and not a literary work like, maybe, unh, Playboy). It wasn't 'til I was a senior in high school that Mom bought me a subscription to Playboy. :-D
-
In their early days, Mad Comics had the two best comics artists in the business-- Jack Davis and Wallace Wood.
End of thread hijack....Potrzebie.

Well we have put another one in the can.
Ray the Rat has the fotos and he is occupied for a while.
There will be fotos to follow.
Some of the highlites; The bidding battle between Tony Thacker and Richard Thomason
for a copy of the foto on the 1974 program, the Jerry Jones driven roadster in
front of the timing tower with the chute out, netted $350 for the El Mirage Womens Association.
The replica of the twin engined Triumph Thunderbird bike that Marlo Treit built and rode
at B'ville in 1959 to a speed of 174 MPH. The new paint job on Target550 streamliner model.
Dan Warner telling about his close brush with a record before he finally cracked the 2 Club.
A supreme dinner served by the chefs at the Shilo Inn.
Pictures of the 5 foot long sturgeon that Judie Amo caught on a Columbia River fishing trip.
One Run Bob being presented the Studebaker award for the second time for the the fastest, 53-54, Studbugger.
Tony Thacker of NHRA Museum fame, describing the World of Speed Auto Museum that is being built in Wilsonville, OR.
Thanks to Bill Reilly ( Parkland Aotosport.com) and the Two Hundred MPH Club for financial support.
February 21, 2015 is the date for next year.
Pictures and more descriptions on the 11:00 o'clock news.
THANKS to everyone that attended.

Doc,
Thanks for the invitation. Joanie & I enjoyed our visit very much. I was glad to meet many of our NW peps and put a face to a name.
A late afternoon flight on Sunday allowed us to visit downtown and Voo Doo Doughnuts. The Max light rail train works well is convenient to use.
DW

it was so nice to get back to the Bonneville Northwest Reunion...
a REAL HONOR to be among TRUE HOTRODDERS at this gathering.....
a real blessing..
THANK YOU so much Freud for making this happen....!!!!
Joe and Judie Amo :)....
everything was top notch...from the attendees to the well coordinated 50/50 drawing and beyond.......:)..
-
Joe..........as I reviewed the banquet I figured that you would have enjoyed the 50/50 drawing.
(Judie Amo sold the tickets and then she drew her own number for the prize.)
I should have had an idea that could happen. She caught more fish on their river outing than all the men combined.
FREUD
-
Dan and Joanie.........we were honored to have you as part of our party.
Glad the train made it to town and back.
FREUD
-
I apologize to Gabe Gorton for not including him in the registration list.
I deposited his money and didn't make name badges.
He doesn't realize that he was allowed to attend without being held
in the stockade overnight for apparently trying to crash the event.
BOY........you just lucky I'm so easy.
FREUD
-
Freud, thank you again for the hundreds of hours of time you have spent over the last decade or so in making this event happen.
As I look back over the years that I have attended, I have many fond memories of fellow racers (and Hero's) that I have met and listened to many great and entertaining speakers. I have also been able to match up names and faces, many of whom look a lot different with civies on (or hat's off)!
Through thick and thin, You Glenn took on sole responsibility for bringing us all together and allowing new friendships to begin, old friendship's to renew, and even some old wound's to heal.
If this was indeed the Last NW Reunion, the memories will live on for many past and present attendees, but if it continues (as Tony Thacker has so generously offered to back and keep moving forward), I am pretty darn sure you will still be "Acura deep in Alligators" making it all happen!
Thanks from the bottom of my heart and I am sure that I speak for most of us LSR afficianatos (?) in wishing to be greeted by you at the door for many more NW Reunions to come. Bob Drury
p.s. Thanks to Dan and Joanie Warner for helping make this a wonderful event, and I hope the bottle made it through Security!
-
CORRECTION
Judy actually drew one of Joe's numbers.
It was as always a great gathering of racers, and had a lot of the 2 Club members in attendance. Thanks for the support from all and thanks Freud for putting this thing on.
Thanks for supporting the Ladies Auxillary. I know how valuable their contribution to racing is when there is an incident.
The meal was outstanding, wish those guys could cook for the Club Banquet! :-D
Dang One Run weighed Johnboy and me entering and leaving... accurate scale, I don't know how it detected the difference in the Gates Ball we took for Sarah and his wallet  :-D
-
Stainless, I just got back from the Vet who retrieved from Sarah's (my Golden Retreiver) stomach: one Gates ball, a bigger ball made of pretzles, potato chips, beer caps, and a map of Vancouver.
Also, she now barks with a accent that sounds like a combination of you and Stan Back arguing the merits of roadster's.
Oh yeah, next year John Boy should drive us to lunch... you can still pay though. One Run, out.................
-
Bob, as always glad you didn't notice it was your Visa I used to pay for lunch... I managed to get your card out before you retrieved your wallet  Not to worry though, I gave it to the homeless guy at the bottom of the freeway ramp and told him to get a hot meal and a cold beer... he promised he wouldn't use it on a hooker
Try feeding Sarah every now and then, she got all those snacks because she gave everyone the "hungry sad face" :-D
Back to subject

Here is the postcard for 2015.

It was easy to overlook an acknowledgement of my right hand assistant when I mentioned people at the banquet.
WHO was that?
RAY the RAT !! That's who.
Sets up the projectors, brings a slide show that ran between the time the doors opened until the meal was served.
Did all of the foto shoot at the banquet and posts to on the website.
Fixes my printers, arranges for the new home for Rufus and is always available for consulting and guidance.
RAY........THANKS SO MUCH.
THANKS to the internet I need not move to UTAH to have you hold my hand.

Not a problem Freud, I should have double checked with you prior to the event to make sure you had my name down. Thank you putting on a great event and of course, letting me stay! It was great meeting a lot of really amazing people.
-
The Master Craftsman, One Run Bob, made a helmet for Stan Back.
I'll post the only foto of it that I recovered from Ray's camera.
Now it's ONB's duty to explain it to this audience the same way
he did to Stan while they were onstage.
