Interesting alright!

Did they do and land speed racing at Daytona Beach here in the states?
-
Yes, the same one they ran the early Nascar races on until the late 50s only futhur north closer to Ormand Beach. They ran right under what is now the Main Street pier. Nascar races were south by Ponce Inlet where the beach ends by the ocean access. There is a bar by the north turn and a marker at the south turn by the beach access road at the south end of the track/beach. Theres some good info on the HAMB http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=639301

A bar at the end of the track? A good idea anywhere.

More racing stuff from across the ocean.
