Thats got to be tough. Just don't over sleep and miss the drivers meeting. We should be arriving from our 2 day trip just in time to get the car through tech on Friday. A new experiance hauling a car that far, ought to be fun. :-o

Anyone else buy a new truck to make this tow?  Of course, now I don't have enough money to do the car.  Classic horse and cart thing........

Dan, what'd you buy?  Tell us all so we can either envy you - or tell you what a doofus you are for not buying XXxxxXX brand of truck.

Also -- howsabout going to your profile for this Forum and entering your location.  You don't need to list a street address, and if you're feeling really paranoid - just say something like "Western Tennessee" or whatever best describes where you live.  Thanks.  I'm trying to get all newcomers to list at least their town - so I figger I oughta get after long-time members, too.

Homemade beef vegetable soup and Mexican cornbread, perfect for  75 degree Georgia day.
Spent last two days in and out of doctors and hospitals for test and back tommorrow but rule book was in mailbox.

Garrell, try putting some (maybe half a small can or so) of creamed corn in the cornbread mix.  It doesn't change the flavor much -- but makes for a much more interesting texture.  Give it a try next time (or ask your dinner chef to try it for you).

Slim - didn't know you had talent as a baker.

Joe:  Yup, I can bake pretty well.  I'm from the southwest corner of (lower) Michigan, which is a major fruit growing area.  I make dang good apple pies and cherry pies and blueberry pies and strawberry pies and peach pies, among other stuff.  Yes, I make my crust from scratch -- Crisco and water -- that's all.  And as for other stuff - well, I don't bother with cakes all that often, but my apple dumplings are (as described by a fellow that was taking a five from working on the house a few years back)  "...the best food I ever ate in my whole life!".  I'll send the recipe if you'd like it.

About that apple dumpling recipe, send it or post it.

If you start a recipe section I'm sure we'll find that there are a lot of closet chefs or bakers in this crowd. It could be a pretty tasty area on this site.

Unh - - good idea, PJ, but will the naysayers put up a hassle if we do?  I have the apple dumpling recipe on the machine at home -- you'll all have to wait.  And things like pies - well, I have no recipe but rather some good hints that'll (I hope) make your results even better.

I got a brand new (to me) '02 Dodge/Cummins Diesel.  It's an early '02 so it looks like an '01.  It has an extended cab, short bed, and is 2WD.  It's hard to find a 2WD in these and I have no use for 4 WD.

I'll see if I can figure out how to mess with my profile.

It goes down easier that way.

The "crust" forms later in your arteries. Saves steps.

Oh, yeah -- I should have included flour, shouldn't I have?  Sorry.  It'll be clear to you when I post the recipe.  By the way, it's from my mom (may she rest in peace), and so shows a bit of her personal styling.  You'll see that, too.

Got mine today.  That's rule book, not pie-making instructions.  Found at least one error in it, but not in an important area.

Post 30 shows how dumb the receipe thread can be. Don't start a new thread, put the receipes in one of the joke threads.
