I talked to Tonya today and my entry is confirmed and I am booked at the Holliday Inn Express. I have chassis dyno time reserved for early march and contracted for some performance modifications which should produce 40+or- hp.

George --- not often it is 60 degrees on Long Island in January.  This is all because I finally finished installing the heat in my garage.   My bio clock thought it was spring and I started cleaning up the garage.  I am registered for the Ohio meet but dont have room yet ... I have to wait to see how many are going. Right now looks like my nephew Joe and brother in law John.

Charles,
I sent in my entry for April.  Doug Wotring, Eric Roehrle, and I have 2 rooms at the Wilmington Inn as well.  Nice to know there's a bar next door....
I will be running my Red Honda 125cc 2stroke that sounds like an angry mosquito.  I chose APS/F-125/2.  I think the record is open...oh wait...they're all open.  I am not sure but I may run with a new tail streamlining but that would mean I need to design new paint and graphics to go with the new shape.
I also may run Nitrous on the 2 stroke finally.  September and October were my non-nitrous shakedowns for this engine and all went well.  But harder to run nitrous consistently on cold mornings with limited battery power for bottle heater.  Yes I know that a cold bottle makes the NOS pressure drop which makes the AF richer and safer but consistent is better to make alterations in jetting for the limited number of runs we will get this first meet.
See you in less than 4 months.

Dr. J, is your bottle heater built for 12VDC or 110VAC?  If the latter -- just have a generator with you as you are in line, keeping the bottle in heating mode 'til you get to about the pressure you want.  Then - disconnect the heater and make your run.  Yes, the dropping pressure will cool the bottle -- but it's only seconds, not long minutes, and the drop shouldn't be too serious.  Well -- how big is the bottle?  Maybe it will make a difference.

Back to the bottle heater -- if you can find a battery wrapping-heater, but it.  WalMart used to have 'them and I bought a couple for use up here when my car/truck was stationed outdoors and I lived directly on the shore of Lake Superior.  It worked.  The heater is a water/acid proof thing, about 6" tall and 18 or 22" long, and runs on the afore-mentioned 110VAC.  It won't make the bottle too hot - doesn't draw that much current nor generate that many BTUs, but it will make a good difference.  I've used it on the 10# bottle on our ZX12R - and it was a dandy way to warm the nitrous container.  And WAY WAY cheaper than a "bottle heater" bought from a nitrous company.  I think the ones I got were about $8 - 10 each.  If not WalMart - try your local big box good hardware store or a farm supply store or such.

Jon,
Yes I already have a bottle heater with a pressure switch and it is 12vdc.  I have a line-in plug so it is a simple matter to connect to an external source which I already do in the pits.  However with the reality of the 2-3 hr staging line slowly moving and no pit crew it is difficult to have a generator or large external battery with the bike.  Without electric start on the bike I can barely manage my bike, me, and my helmet!  But I am considering some type of car size battery or generator (with DC invertor) on a rolling cart so that I can move the bike then the cart while in line.  Maybe I should put a trailer hitch on the bike.  Thanks for the info on the battery heaters too.  I will check them out.

We are Registered and My motor is out. Pete is doing some more majic to it. Changing the hood. Changing some body panels. will stay in the trailer I guess anywhere we can park it . I have dear friends that live 10 miles away. So we will just play it by ear. I have stayed at a Campground just out side Waynesville that was great. Just never get too crazy about a place to sleep as I always have it with me. I am just happy that we have a place and it will be good pavement. Have some friends that I flew with,  that flew for DHL and the reports they give are really good. Of course grooved pavement can be a little trickey to hook up on. It takes care of run off but it does reduce the amount of surface that is in contact with the tire.

We have both bikes registered and are staying...I don't know where.  They wife/owner/boss made the reservations.  As long as we survive Texas in March we will be there.  Of course at this point we have no running motorcycles.
Dr. J if we can help you out with the bike just let me know.  One of the bikes will be in line at all times.  Between fearing long 3+ hour lines and having to back down one license catagory on the 1st pass, I'm not sure we will get very much accomplished.  We are looking at Texas to shake down one of the bikes, probably the 600.
I'm sure there will be a lot of learning going on this year in Wilmington and we will take it one event at a time.

Holiday Inn Express.

Got our heads back and file fitting the rings this weekend so the motor can go back together for the Ghia.  May try to get the lexan and NACA ducts in before April too.  All this is happening while we put our Super Stock Dart back together too so I can run some 1/4 mile stuff this season. :-D

We reserved all 4 dates at the HIE but June could be in doubt due to my sons work schedule. I sent Tonya entries for multiple dates but they are not excepting entries for future dates, only the current race so she is returning a check. I guess its easier on my wallet like that.

We should be there with the truck and the Jag looking for 200 club in both!

Wilmington Inn is sold out, we're staying at the Holiday Inn Express... I called the front desk and she said they have a lot of equestrian events in the area and are used to trucks and trailers.  They're on a side street near the airport and the police have allowed overflow parking on the street for large trucks and trailers.

If you are looking for rooms, they still have quite a few left as of this morning, mostly mini-suites.......

DON'T CALL THE HOLIDAY INN 1-800 NUMBER!  Call the front desk @ 1-937-382-5858 they have a discount set up for ECTA now and are very helpful.  The young lady said they are "excited to see what this is all about" since they have never had anything in town like this before!

Along with many other Blue Bird owners we will be staying wherever Joe tells us to park and camp in our 'Bird's, I have an idea where but will await the OK from the ECTA and Airborne Airpark.

Ummm Dan, I don't think it's legal for a dog to drive even a scooter.  Although I know that you don't need a drivers license either so maybe a dog license would be enough.  Especially if it was a Chinese scooter with a Chinese Sharpei on it (though I would hate to see all those wrinkles flapping in the wind...)

Hey guys on a bit of a serious note, I believe in Ohio it is much more important that the Scooter be legal beagle than the rider!?!  Granted there is a public road running through it, but pitbikes without current tags were always an issue with the Sheriff at Mid-Ohio.

The Sheriff Dept. of Richland county ( where Mid Ohio is) has ALWAYS had a bug "where the sun don't shine" I went to college in Ashland.
Maybe someone local could call the Clinton county S.D. and get a clarification? Just a thought.

reading ohio dot laws EVERYTHING must have a tag and insurance, but it appears you can get a title for everything there with a bill of sale and loacl PD safety inspection.  Even a ragged out Black and Red Studebaker.

I never had a problem in Mid-Ohio or Nelson Ledges.  That is with a pit bike.  Crashed a few times to many.

Jarl, actually -
The human goes on the scooter.  A lead goes from the human to the collar on the pooch and away we go.  We live on a circle that's about 0.6 mi. long and doesn't go anywhere so there's no reason for anyone to be on the circle unless they live here (no thru traffic).  Kingsford (standard Poodle - big black guy at about 60 lbs) and I make usually 4 rounds which takes some of the P&V out of him.  Dogs NEED to roam as part of their socialization.  With my bad heart I can't run him or otherwise give him the exercise he needs.  He's a young'un, as he turns 3 today.  If I let him run too much he'll tear up his pads on the asphalt so mostly we trot.  He averages 10 MPH according to the scooter's speedo but has run at speeds up to 20!  I've ridden enough miles at 10 MPH that I'm almost qualified to ride with the Shriners.  Poodles have a base stock of many breeds including Greyhound (the dog, not the bus) and he still has some of the speed.

dog connected to rider with bad heart connected to motor scooter... I guess suggesting a "kill" switch would be tacky. But when did that ever stop me ("please ma, say it ain't so!).

Click on vehicle registration. Center column, tenth "bullet point" down.

That's the craziest thing I think I have ever read.  According to their DMV page, race bikes (as i read it, since they are for off road only) must be tagged for Ohio even if the owner is from out of state.  LOL!  Insane!
