I'LL be heading up from slc 6am saturday morning.
I have room in my truck for parts or if someone needs a crew member (can wrench). Shoot me a reply.
Would also like to know salt conditions.

Quickie update.  Salt looks to be wonderful.  Will drive the courses tomorrow after drivers meeting.  My estimate is attendance is low for thursday/tech day but maybe more cars/bikes will show up tomorrow.  Manta and the midget are on the salt, getting ready.  I know they made it thru inspection but will let them update on their progress.  Air is smoky, but where isn't it?  Will post updates as they happen.

We experienced high winds today and the courses were put on hold around 1:30.  The winds increased, it started spitting a very small amount of rain, and racing was officially ended around 4:00.  We've got 8 cars and 5 motorcycles in impound.  I believe the fastest of which is Mariani's XF/BFS which ran about 310 on the 302 record set by Ron Main's Flatfire back in 2003.  The parade from impound to the starting line(s) is supposed to start around 7:30.  It looked like most of the rain was going to skirt around the salt to the south, and I don't think it'll be an issue for tomorrow, when the winds are predicted to be much less, as it the temperature.

We don't have live streaming available. However, we post some updates and interviews with racers on our Facebook page. I am not tech savvy, and therefore no help to the club in that regard.
You can also check our website for postings of the runs for each day. I am not sure when the run data will be uploaded.

Heads up racers... salt opening at 6 tomorrow, impound walk is 7... yes all earlier than posted because of the lack of racing for the weather this afternoon...

Bockscar is about 3 back from the front for Ross's A license pass...

His B pass went well

I'll say it again - Not only is it the fastest sport in the world, it's also the slowest. Salt is the best surface I'll ever have run on - provided it stays dry overnight.  Probably will.

About a half dozen high schools in the area turned this morning into a Bonneville field trip. To be able to take a field trip to a Bonneville event - I can't think of ANYTHING cooler than that.

Thanks to Gus for saving our bacon while we waited in line to get a shakedown and rookie run in for me and Nick - which didn't happen.  He single-handedly tied up our pit while we were in line and prevented our tent from heading to Idaho - AND brought some of the best tasting home grown tomatos I've had this year.

REALLY like the time and effort Monte and crew put in to marking the salt this year. An idiot can figure it out, and even I did.

Hope that record runs went well this (Sat) morning. Looking forward to seeing the numbers for Mariani liner, three-bills is a big number for a flattie   :-D

Does anyone know details or pics of the blown motor that Dennis is running this year, is it based around the engine they had in the roadster or a new package?

Heard they lost the engine big time on return-run last month, tough if they lost the block.

Enquiring minds  8-)

The engine is not the one from the roadster its a new build but similar to the roadster engine. Last month they ran 312 however they experienced a water leak so the back up run was never attempted. Todays back up run went well the record is now 310.

. Yes we did make it through tech nicely yesterday and today we were well actually that afternoon we were in line ready to run and that's when the wind came up and of course was closed so we didn't run yesterday but we ran this morning and a short course and the 150 club and turned out at 1:57 mile an hour run and that was a little bit more than I was targeting for but it was under the $160 mph disqualification limit so I was happy with it. We did what we came to do which was to check out the new car and things went well so with the weather looks like getting worse we're packed up and leaving tomorrow

Well so much for speech recognition. But I think you know what I meant to say. It was 157 mph.
