Hi my name is Gary,
Been into hotrods all my life due to my father. Built a couple of rods from the ground up, but now getting into building cars to race. Had an idea to run at Bonneville in the future, so I thought it would be a good idea to talk with people who have done it. Might ask some dumb questions in the future so please bear with me ( experience takes time!).
So Hello everyone

Experience is going to be where you find it and what you do with it.
What is going to take the most time is the translation from you native language. LOL
There is a really good Speed Record Club in England you should get with for some local flavour.
They are pretty active and study the sport better than most.
MK from around here and England can guide you on your way locally.
This place features lots of good information and as you might expect, some of it is not so good.
The pictures are quite informative and you will find that no two vehicles are the same.
If you want a "COOKIE CUTTER" ride buy a kit.
Jack
OBTW: What are you doing up at this awful hour anyway ? It is not even 6am.

Hello back and welcome to the forum. Don't pay much attention to Jack as he uses a sun dial and it don't work well even in a full moon and is always under a blanket of smog.
This forum will provide you with tons of information and ideas. Decide what you want to build and go for it.I'm sure Malcome Pitwood will jump in here and offer his help as will most of us on this side of the pond.
Enjoy the forum and good luck on what ever you decide.
Glen
Timer of the fastest hot rods in the world :D

I stumbled onto this e-mail address several years ago. He lists Hot Rods and Flatheads and may be a good contact.
I have no idea in what part of the UK he resides but drop him a note.

Glen thanks i have a basic idea of what I want to build but I only have an old rule book at the moment and want the car to fit into dragracing here and running sometime on the salt. So most of my questions will seem obvious to you guys, I guess all rookies ask the same
Freud Thanks will drop them a line.

I can do some of the translation from here.
It sounds like he is well on his way.
Who is gonna tell him that Drag Racing was developed here by prople that
couldn't make it to the Lakes ?
He wants to go to Bonneville and I suppose a little Drag acing will be harmless. LOL
