Newbie needs assistance and direction re: Streamliner Build
« on: September 20, 2011, 03:12:29 AM »
I would greatly appreciate the input from all the knowledge here on this site.  I want to start looking into the cost of either buying a proven motorcycle engine based liner, or would like to be put in touch with someone that has interest in building one at some point.  Can ya help a newbie out?
Thanks in advance for any assistance

Are you talking a two wheel or a four wheel liner? Where are you located? A little more information might help you get started on this project. :? :? :?

It would help to also state abut how much you would be willing to spend for an already established liner and how fast you are hoping to go?

Newbie2.... I built a four wheel motorcycle powered streamliner a couple years ago using a ZX-10 engine. This was my first landspeed car build and I learned a lot of what to do and not do. Since my budjet was very small cost was a big issue for me. Your cost will be decided on how fast you want to go and how much of the work you can do your self. I will be glad to offer any info from my build if you wish. You can contact me at joxford@charter.net.  Thanks........ Jerry O

Jerry's build is at:

This was a truly awesome build and the car was run successfully this year by it's new owners.

Glen, I don't either, but the last time I spoke to Sum, he seemed very happy about his current life, and unless something change's, his life now is about a very nice Lady, and sailing into the Sunset.
I wish him the best, and hope that we all can be as happy as he seem's..............  Bob

Glen,  I hope that that is what happen's.
For those of you who are newby's, Sum helped make this site what it is Today.
He was the first to do a "Build Site" and walk us thru a step by step how to.
Sum is a very intelligent and humble person who made it easy to learn as he learned, and taught a lot of us that even though we are not "Craftsmen", we could build our dream............
I wish him the best, and hope to see him in Impound................  Bob

I have been watching Sumners stuff for years, even before I posted much here. Mutual friends. Like to see him back in it!

I think there is a streamlined bike in Wichita that could be bought for the price of a couple of Black Shadows... you never did say if you wanted 2,3 or 4 wheels, get specific and you might find something... money really can buy rent happiness
