I'll say it before anyone else:  Get an SCTA rulebook and compare safety requirements in the book vs. in your truck.

Your truck would run time only, there is no class that your tru?k fits into.To run in the truck classes it would to be based on a production truck.

I might have to disagree....  he could run C/GS.... of course all of his safety stuff would have to spec to 300+ and add some fire doors...  8-)
OK, TO would be more reasonable...

I have the rule book, just can't find a class it fit's. Bob Keselowski ran(R.I.P.) an old dodge cup car in C/GCT @ 271mph, there has to be a class for this old truck...

Though I think has been proposed in the past I believe there still is no Bonneville class for old circle track cars/trucks (Like Keslowski's C/GCT- a ECTA class) All Modified category or Production Category vehicles must be based on a production car/truck as 37 roadster noted. Time Only unless your 1996 truck was actually based on a production vehicle. But even then the sheet metal cannot be altered and the original frame must be in place. Mostly you are SOL except for TO.

Hey Jack, the argument is that nascar stuff is not production.... so his truck would not be a modified production body.....

I was responding to 55Chev suggestion to run as a streamliner. Which actually you suggested as well in the 4th post above ( "he could run C/GS")........ LOL>
But for modified pickup body has to be stock ( the usual language about mount position etc etc) which I assume it isn't and it must have the original frame under it which I know is not the case.  :dhorse: :dhorse: I stand by my prior statement that he is SOL other than TO until they make a class....... you know, like the bike guys muutt

Don't pick on the bike guys!

Why would they start another class when they have over 100 now open!

It's damn hard to show up and make two runs within 24 hours!
