I know the wheel distance from the body has been hashed out here, but what about the front wheels on a roadster and the effect it has on the body?
I was playing around doing some cad modeling of a roadster and just got me curious at the front track versus the rear track. If you look at the top view of the cad model, it clearly shows the body is in the path of the wake from the front tires. When this air collides with the other air flowing down the sides it must do some negative things to the flow causing drag. Am I correct in this assumption or off base?
So what if you moved out the front wheels from the minimum 44” to 50-52”. Will this have a positive effect on the airflow to cut down drag? Like to hear the pros and cons of my theory.
