i'm running a total loss system and haven't had any issues , yet .
battery is a sealed unit from an e-start softail and it only powers a
self contained ign. in the gearcover.
it's on a battery tender year round and when possible at the salt.

back when i drag raced ,the battery was from a 12v kicker
and could make 12-14 passes w/points ign.
didn't know what a battery tender was then.
