So..
Do I have to have a production hood on my CGC Mustang?
   Thanks in advance!

The rules say you it needs to be the same year as the body and frame... in both classic and GC...
But I am not the final authority by any means... I just read the rulebook and can tell you what it says.  Send an email to the chair and ask if your situation is within the rules.
I'm sure some of the folks that run in that class will chime in....
Let us know what the official word is please

Thanks Stainless,
I read the rule book regularly and it does seem to read that I have to have a production (steel) hood. I currently have a fiberglass hood on the car that is specifically for a 79 Mustang. I dont mind changing the hood and scoop but if I can save a couple bucks I will keep what I have.

Yes, you may use a fiberglass hood as long as it conforms to the requirements of rule 2.N. see page 25 of the 2022 rule book.
Cheers
