I am planning to run a 2002 Corvette Z06 in 2014. According to Goodyear the only land speed tiire available are 15" which presents a problem witn brake clearance. I would appreciate any information from Corvette owners that have run at Bonneville as to what tires and wheels you used and if they were 15" what you did with the brakes.

Research Wide tires on this site, PM JL222, I think that is his moniker, he uses wide tires that will probably work... Option B, MT has 18 inch tires, I think RogerL (Roger Lesman) has some for sale.

Actually the first thing that hits on a C5 Z06 is the A arms, not the brakes. We run CCW 16" rims for dragracing, and had to grind the upper rear a arm. So 16" MT's will certainly fit using normal CCW's.
I'm willing to bet CCW can make some 15's that will clear with a little grinding. The LSR tires are super narrow, so a 15" rim with hub offset might work. In fact, I'd bet on it.
Personally, I think a (Y) rated DOT tire on a factory rim is safer. (Y) is a supercar tire speed designator, over 186mph. This is what kind of tire you see on 200mph+ street cars. IIRC, you can go 175? on them.

Note: Unless you've done some serious modifications to your Z, you can run OEM tires.
When the 2002 came out, I did some speed testing at low altitude. At 175 mph, it hits the rev limiter in 5th, and when you grab six, it slows to 162.
It will take a gearing change and about 510rwhp at high altitude to go past 200mph, based on C6 Z06 numbers.
Sidebar: From personal experience racing in the rain (low traction), the best (Y) rated tires for your car are probably Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's, Go 275/40-17 + 295/35-18 on factory rims.
