It must be getting close.  I just heard the first race motor in the pits.  I'm setting up the radio stuff and the computer stuff and so on.  I don't know if I'll turn on the audio today, but when I do I'll letcha know.

80F, cloudy, 3-5 mph breeze, 30% chance of showers mainly after 3PM.

Ron Cohn, with the rest of the audio stuff, is due in town tonight or tomorrow morning, so no audio from here yet.

Lotsa racers are already here.  Got Salt, Langlo, Nish, Speed Demon, Al Lamb, Ron Sangiovani, Anita Strasburg, George Fields, both Hoogerhydes, the Jesel team, the Carter family, and that's all my brain could hold.  It's looking good so far.

Goodyear Tire is here to help out racers, the sunglasses guy is here as always, it's 4.1 miles from Land's End to the registration area.  Safety-Klean will accept your waste fluids, Delaware Chassis Works will offer fire system help and so will Valerie and Ed Fenn.  The ice semi trailer is here and in operation, the toilets are in place and there's an ambulance on duty.  The VP fuel truck is here, Save the Salt is here, and the 200 MPH Club will be near the main pit entrance along with the Volk Family pit. 

I'll start a thread for the event itself tomorrow.

Oh, yeah - a new gas station/C-store is up and running.  It's a Maverik and it's on the extreme west end of West Wendover, om the north side of I80.  It's where the watering hole/casino/whatever was to be.  It got partly built, construction stopped and the partially-finished place stayed empty - - until now.
