USFRA T&T
« on: February 23, 2023, 10:20:35 AM »
Just received my 23 Membership stuff and looks like the USFRA has plans to put on the T&T the last week in June! They indicate they need 75 pre-entries before June (ASAP)to make it happen so IF we have good salt, make plans early and maybe we can make it happen. With all the cancelations of the last few years, it would be awesome to get more than 1 shot at possible seat time ! Keep the faith , be safe -go fast  :clap

Hi Deep, that's exactly what I'm thinking , I have a whole new drivetrain to try out and even though I haven't attended one in the past, word I got was you could almost do hotlaps, as it is a minimum of entries. As far as temps, should be cooler but sounds like you guys are familiar with BV  weather -could be 20-120 degrees and sun, rain, snow ....  lol8 I just hope the salt has enough time to heal before June-fingers x'ed !

We are still planning for our Test and Tune scheduled for June 29th - July 2nd.
A minimum of 75 entries is required for us to make this event viable. We are well short
of that number at this time. We have extended the deadline for entries until June 1st.

Those that have been checking the weather station camera can now see more salt than water, which is encouraging. We will be taking a trip out to inspect the salt conditions first hand, in the coming days. Updates will be forthcoming.

The registration information can be found on our website,  saltflats.com  Don't delay any longer, let us know if you plan on participating.

Also, for the local members and friends, our annual club movie night is tomorrow May 4th. For all the details check our Facebook page or the website.

We are hoping for, and looking forward to a great year on the salt.

As always Monte, thanks to all you good people who do so much to let us 'play'! Keeping fingers crossed that we get good salt and plenty of entries , nothing better than 2-3 shots a year at seat time ! Thanks again !!

Today we ventured out to the salt to check conditions. Dennis, Gary, Lloyd and myself set out this morning on our road trip. It rained late yesterday and we were a bit apprehensive about what me might find. When we arrived at the end of the access road, there were quite a few tourists there.
We found some standing water puddles, but not near what I expected. We did not drive out on the surface. It was obvious the salt would just make a mess of the underside of the truck. We could not see any extensive standing water from the end of the road.
We then drove up to the radio towers on the top of the mountain. From that vantage point, we could see nice white salt virtually all the way to floating mountain. There is no standing water at the far end of the courses.
The weather here is projected to be in the mid to high 80's all the way through next Sunday. Our consensus is that we are very encouraged by what we saw. Of course it always depends on what Mother Nature has in store.
That said, as of now, we only have 30 entries committed for the Test and Tune. That means we need another 45 to make it happen. Only two weeks before the cut off date, June 1st. Get your entry in now.

Well that's the old 'good news/bad news' muutt salt looking good but not enough entries- sure hope we can put it together, but I realize in this economy it's difficult to make multiple trips. Keep the faith and hope for it to happen! Once again, thanks Monte and the whole crew for all your efforts  :clap

According to the USFRA website, the answer to your question would be "yes", as it states the entry fees for both are the same as at WoS.

Bob, Jeff is correct in answering yes to your question about running 130/150 at the Test and Tune.
We have tried to get the Test and Tune transitioned into a "record" event, but so far, no cooperation.

Not close enough, we might have to run a bunch of push trucks in the 130 club! :?
If you know anybody thinking about running give them a wind up!!
