Speed museum in Salt Lake?
« on: August 03, 2023, 03:26:26 PM »
Does anyone know if there is still a speed museum in Salt Lake? I think it was the Price Museum? Were headed to the salt and thought we would stop in Salt Lake and take in sites?

Thanks in advance,

Price speed museum.  Google it up.  Appears to be open.  There is also a museum in Wallsburg that has a streamliner built in sugarhouse with a interesting story.

Hill AFB has a great collection/museum of aircraft.  See an SR-71 in person!  See a cutaway of a 28-cylinder radial airplane engine!

Price museum seems to have some inconsistent info regarding if it is open to the public.  I read one place it is open 5 days a week, another said it is open the second Wednesday of the month, others say it isn't open to the public at all.  I would like to find out more since I really do want to see the Mormon Meteor up close.  Anybody know for sure what the status is?

I tried, but I couldn?t find anything recent. I can?t seem to find anything about the streamliner sugarhouse.

Athol Graham --- City of Salt Lake.
Here's a cool video about it.

The R.W. Erickson foundation museum in wallsburg,  near deercreek reservoir.

I believe the proper name is Price museum of speed.  Where the Mormon meteor III is at.

I just toured the Price museum of speed today.  Awesome history and cars.
Use the email to reserve your appointment.  Every 2nd Wednesday of the month it's open.  There's about 4 or more landspeed cars on display along with some indy cars. Ect.

After touring the place and on my way out,  they had these really nice hardback books.  As I glanced at em,  I asked how much  and he said free.  I almost couldn't believe it.
Inside there's stories and photography of cars that have stayed there.  These were made by the U of U and Institute of fine arts.
Also 2 of AL Teagues cars are there.  Betsy and the black streamliner.
I've been sharing pics with Kiwi.  I can't seem to upload pics here  but I have some video I'll soon be editing.

Betsey is the liner mate, the roadster is only known as the roadster.

Oh,  ok.  When you said she was stuck in the corner,  I assumed that was her.  Thanks for the correction.

You have to resize pics and give them unique names to upload here.  If you resize to 120K or less you can upload 4 per post.
