As long as I don't have to go to Blanding to do it.
(I mean think of those two words Bland and Ding).

Oh wellll... never mind. Keep the shiny side up!

Blanding hasn't always been Blanding.  First it was settled by Native Americans probably back at least 10,000 years ago and they have left over 100,000 archeology sites in the county.  It was then settled in the late 1800's by the Mormons and was initially called Grayson.  Then at the turn of the century this guy back east wanted to have a town named with his wife's maiden name "Blanding".  He offered I believe $10,000 for a library to the first town that would do that.  Now the locals figured they could end up with $10,000 and a name that would keep others uninterested in coming here.  What a deal :D .  They changed the name, but I don't think they ever got the money  .

Visit Beautiful Blanding, centrally located between Bluff and Monticello, right on the way from not much of anything to not much more.

Sum, you're gonna have to do better than inviting us to Blanding, I think...

So to this day even though people flock to Monument Valley 70 miles to the south and Canyonlands & Arches National parks 40 to 70 miles to the north and Mesa Verde 80 miles to the east and Natural Bridges 45 miles to the west and Lake Powell another 45 miles further to the west most of them, like Jon and Nancy just keep right on driving when they get to Blanding.

Of course if any of you want to stop here I'll show you all that Jon and Nancy missed,

If you are a little short, you can start with the new name right away and just owe me.
I know you are desperate.

I'd go back to Blanding at the drop of a hat.

We had a great time there on the way to Bonneville last summer.  Sumner is an excellent host and tour guide.  Our visit with Sumner and Julie was the highlight of the trip according to my daughter.

I'm going to be short on time this summer, I'll be traveling to Germany and Austria in July with my son's marching band, so time to detour to Blanding is un-available.  I'm planning on 2007 for a return trip.

Now we have the B-WORD to deal with. We didn't get a chance to get there last year, ran out of time on the trip home. Plan to go this year and see if the population still live in caves.

The last time Nancy and I drove through the neighborhood we stopped in Monticello for supper.  I remember the restaurant pretty well -- nice place, the menu listed all the regular foods, but it also had "Fried Liver and Onions:  $235,897.95" or some silly price.  After the item was the comment from the owner (I hate liver!).  It's hard to forget that one.  Next time we're in town we'll let you know, Sum, and you can show us the rest of the area.

We stayed in a campground not too far from there.  Nice campground, but there were some cattle moo-ing all night right nearby.  Or maybe that was Dan, sans culottes, venting his frustrations.

In San Diego we have politicians that have cost us many hundreds of millions and now the ones that are not in jail yet want us to spend more for a better stadium.
We just made the Police Chief the Mayor and we are going to see how that works.
Go figure.
