I think you missed the point. I would never presume to tell one how to make an engine or body of their project because I know I have NO expertise in the subject. Hell I hate working on my own vehicle. In that same spirit, why would someone who has never been in the film / TV presume to have final say on editing?

By the way, if I offered to pay for your speed projects, would you allow me to have final say on the design and engine of your project. I dare say no.
[/quote]

ABSOLUTELY I would! When do we start? If you'd like to pay for my speed projects, I'll bring all the drama to your reality show you want!

...but, since that will not happen, I'll continue on my way.

My point, is that there are a lot of living legends out there, and most of them know the legends that have passed on. I feel, in order to do this show right, you're going to need to mingle the 'everyday racer's' tribulations, with the past, and the promise of what tomorrow may bring.

All of us today, are riding on the shirt tails of those who came to the salt before us, and tomorrow's generation will have the benefit of today's racers also. The negative drama-horrific crashes, are definitely part of it, but they are FAR overshadowed by the successes, friendships, and camaraderie that happens on the salt.

That's the REALITY of it!

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine. However, this is not necessarily a good idea. It is hard to be sure where they are going to land, and it could be dangerous sitting under them as they fly overhead. -- RFC 1925

You can't make a race horse out of a pig. But if you work hard enough at it you can make a mighty fast pig. - Bob Akin

About ten years ago Benn Karne and Steve Davy made a documentary "Bonneville Wide Open" It won an award at the California Independent Film show. I liked it. I bought the DVD. I don't know how they funded the production. Same way I fund things I want to do, I guess. But I wonder if you have contacted either them or one of the other producers of Bonneville documentaries to get advice on how to approach participants who you would like to help with your project. I can see you are trying pretty hard. But at least here, not doing as well as you may have hoped. The salt and LSR in general is very important to the people here. They are protective of it. And most will never forget the TV show that played Glen saying "Rider down" over and over again. Even for car spins. We can't stop that kind of thing. But we sure don't have to help.

I think you missed the point. I would never presume to tell one how to make an engine or body of their project because I know I have NO expertise in the subject.

And I do not recall anybody here asking for that input on a build.  What I do recall is that it was you that was asking to be involved.

. . . why would someone who has never been in the film / TV presume to have final say on editing?

Because as the subject matter of your show, there lies the potential for purposeful or unintended misrepresentation of that person, the effort and/or the project.  It may not be customary for the on-screen talent to have any say over the final cut, but it would be imprudent for them not to.
