Chris I figuered you seen one camaro build you seem em all.
Myself and my dad have always called Camaros, girl cars. And in this case it rocks since you wife drives it!@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-D
Glad to have been of help with parts, has the starter made it yet?
I found this neat lttle cross trans mount cross member that will accomodate a couple different transmissions and incoporates a drive shaft safety hoop and the front mount for the adjustable torque arm. Amy likes red. :-D
Smart move. And how ironic is that, I'm married to a fiery redhead with green eyes too. Scary :-)

Yes, but is she beating you with a stick to make her car go faster. :-o

. . . or just for the sport of it?
Yeah, Kate's Irish, too . . .
Thanks for the input Sparky. We currently have, I guess it would be called a towing converter. 1800-2000 rpm stall. Going to be looking for someting different next year to try to get rid of some parasitic hp loss.
Amy can row the gears and I have a toploader begging to be stuffed into some thing. It might find its way into the camaro next year. 8-)
Frank if after my wife and I go to El Mirage for our first taste of LSR and I get her blessing to go LSR that's about how my build will be lol. Thankfully at this point there are a lot of open records in rear engine mod roadster. Might be my best bet on setting a record lol
Remembering that I have a '63 Triumph Spitfire (complete less eng.) in storage I think we will go with Modified Sport as there are a lot of open records in that one in the mile as well. :-D
... I'm getting back to the GT6 with an engine, trans and rear end swap (already have all the parts) for a fun street ride. :-D
Gregg
2.3 liter turbocharged with a 5-speed? 8-)

Mike....Yes and Yes and with a Thunderbird 7.5 IRS diff. I'm on Turboford as GT6GKA.
Gregg
Oh well I guess I'll have to come up with a diff combo as that was what I was thinking of running as I have some of the bits and pieces on the shelf already :-o Great minds think alike eh Gregg

Yep Luke there is a sweet spot on the TL's to "bang da gears". I might have to start scrounging parts. Another improvement for next year will be swapping out the 3.08 rear gears for 2.73.
Frank.
Frank, love the bead rolled door panels.
Looking at the burrito specs from an ex-counterman from a speed shops perspective, there are so many little things that could be done to pep it up. I also know about budgets as I ran my drag cars on dental floss budgets and itll be no different with LSR.
Im enjoying the reading.
Frank:
Enjoying the thread. The reverse build diary. That's how I will have to do it. When the car is done or as done as it will get for a while. Then I will have time to organize the pictures and list the steps of the build.
BR
CT that should be a no brain'r---by used NASCAR stuff!!! you want have to travel far :-D
The heads in this kit are Edelbrock performer E-Tec 170's. specs are as follows
170cc intake ports
70cc exh
64cc chambers
1.46" springs, .575" max lift roller cam
assembled with screw in rocker studs and guide plates
These should do for now. When it time yo up grade these will find a new home in another project. If I don't destroy them first. :-o
The fellow in the attached photo helping stuff the motor in the car is my sudo-son Johnathan Perez. He adopted me about 15 yrs.ago as he comes from a fatherless family, good kid, into crotch rockets,in a good way.

Also, GREAT story on Johnathan.....Good on ya, Mate!
Gregg
Yep Gregg. We might go this friday but may put it of till next friday. They have test-n-tune and street legal drags fridays after 5 pm. Tooooooo much rain lately. Glad to have ya come down. We'll feed ya. :-D
Ooops, forgot about the meet. Be safe, have fun. My folks want to go to the strip as well. We'll do it the next weekend. I'll pm you.
Add a huffer, tip the bottle...... :-D

Baby steps, Flattie, baby steps :-D
Cleaned the car up and painted the inside to help keep it a little cooler and easier to clean. heading to the drag strip tomorrow afternoon so Amy can get some seat time with the new shifter and engine combo. Gregg, Half the Rampage brothers, is coming down for a visit to witness the fun.
.....gotta see where the trans fluid is coming from :? May haps we'll see you at the strip this friday. Have a good day
Frank.
Wooo hoo, good for you. Keep us posted along the way as well as the event activities. Keep safe.
Frank and Amy.
Another good trip to the drag strip. The new torque converter really did the trick. The car launches well without Amy having to do excessive leg work outs to hold the car on the line. It looks like about everything is done except for some minor tuning and cashing in cans and bottles for hotel and food money. With some luck Amy will get her "C" license and I will have new goals for next year.
Good to hear you had a good run Frank. Congrats to Amy.
Mike, I'll start a thread but first things first. Gotta clean out the garage to make room for the
'next one"
Amazing what happens when you put the car on a dyno and find 100hp.
Sure got some funny looks from folks at the track.
