Listening in again from the UK.
Thank you guys for the stream. You're keeping a little English fella sane for just a while longer.
Does anyone know if Alp ran his Vincent yet? If so, any news on the speed and how he did?

Thanks

It was 715 running A/BFS  They took out the AA after a couple of funky runs and put in the A.  One can hypothecate that Mr. Poteet requested his crew to prepare the car so that he could secure the Hot Rod trophy first and set records later.

Ya think?

Great news!  I just spoke with Jim Kirk.  He's still at University Hospital, but expects to be released very shortly,  He's got a couple of banged up ribs and a minor cut or two, but says he's doing well.  He also said his crew guys will be picking him up and he'll be back on the salt later today, or tomorrow morning at the latest.

Another UK listener, boy it hurts not to be out there but commentary helps. Made worse when you know someone is out there after "Your" record

I remember talking to him after that crash back in 08 or 09.

Gary, It looks like your old car might have bumped the record at 242 if it weren't for the Rydin car backing up a new 246 record this morning.

Slim,  great meeting you in person and I appreciate you showing my son and I how the setup works in the trailer.   It was a great experience, can't wait to get back out there!

I'll be tuning in the rest of the week.  Did they decide course 1 was too rough because of damage from previous wrecks or just concern over the amount of spins?  I recall they were spinning/layout down on both 1 and 2 when there.

I'm not seeing it, maybe its upcoming?  There is a car there that is technically a D/AIR running about 155 mph, forgot which number.  They are running C/AIR class this year but the owner and I were chatting and he said they were lobbying to open up the class to more common V8 sizes of the era.
