The rev. limiters are in fact hurting more engines than they are saving.
Ie. you pull timing out, you putout holes, you putout holes, you hydraulic cylinders, you hydraulic cylinders, you lift the heads and brake rods, and so on goes the damage.
Langdon ran 299+ at the 1/8th weekend before last, and 3.66 elapsed time @ 1000 feet. He had four holes out from about the 700 to 800 foot mark, if not for the rev limiters, who knows what that pass would have been. Quickest pass ever, impeded by electronics.
