Just came back from Lands End.  The salt is under water.  Saw somebody standing in it halfway down the road, and the water was above their ankles.  Talked to Kiwi Steve, who told me that there would be a "meeting of the minds" at 0800MDT (25 minutes from now), and that whatever they come up with will be posted on the Facebook site.  Slim may well get the word to post here, too.  A snow cat and roll back were already working on pulling vehicles out of the muck at the Bend in the Road.  The only good news was that - after five years - I got to see and talk with Pork Pie again!

FB Post from SCTA - Rained off and on all night - 1/2? water on track and pits - Driver?s Meeting Postponed - Weather looks promising - Don?t let the end of the road discourage you, the tracks and pits are at higher ground.

Ron is out there and (onsite observer) and he confirms there's water everywhere (sorta) and SCTA is doing its damndest to minimise traffic on the wet salt so potholes don't appear.  You remember the slushy mess right off Land's End, don't you?

I'm at the motel and going downstairs for coffee and a bench-racing breakfast.  I'll post updates when I hear interesting stuff.

Sanded and repainted the trailer frame last night.
Glad I decided to wait.  Looks like world of speed for me.
I'll be listening at work this week. Kind of a tradition here , the boss always asks if it's playing. 👍

Just returned from Land's End again.  The rain has stopped, and the paved road is now dry, but the salt remains under water.  Still no official word on status.  The rumor mill at Land's End has it that supposedly racing will start on Monday...    Deja Vu all over again!
Remember 2019, when it rained on Friday, racing was postponed until Tuesday, and the quagmire in the staging lanes?  A few records were actually set then (with the course being moved nightly) but nobody earned a new hat.  Nothing to do now but wait until we see what happens.  I'll be pulling for sun and wind!

SCTA-BNI just announced (on Facebook) that racing is postponed until at least Monday.  We'll try again then.

No racing tomorrow (Sunday) says SCTA.  Monday?  Maybe, if the water goes away and the track comes back.  In the meantime - we wait and hope.  C ya tomorrow.

It's all very quiet from SCTA other than trying to sell t shirts! The bend is a real mess will take days for some rigs to move again, plenty of water at the end of the road. Only my 4th year but I doubt we will race.
