It looks like making the weights from steel would be problematic to clear the inside of the crankcase. So more scheming is needed- perhaps lead-filled steel weights? Or disregard potential value of the crank (as a four cylinder) by cutting away some of its #2 & 3 counterweights.
The 3-disc CrowerGlide and flywheel are very heavy, which will help with torsional considerations.
The new electric temperature gauge I just installed with the sensor right at the head should allow me to avoid too much heat in the head before turning the pump on. The needle starts moving at about 100 degrees F.
