Leo Hess team is reassembling the bike -- a new output shaft was flown in last night and being installed this morning (per the CB just now).
Terry Kizer was putting the Wheeler motor together -- oil breather let about a quart of oil loose, which started a minor fire and hurt the bodywork. The motor is all tight now -- Terry's pouring oil in as I watch. Sam is bending an aluminum carpenter's square into a nice curve -- to use to reinforce the body where it's hurt. By the way, the new front wheel on Sam's bike is strewing more salt into the wheel cavity than expected -- enough that it also gets thrown into the body. Working on a fix to reduce that.
Wheeler hopes to run in three or so hours. Poteet/Main is chasing an electrical gremlin, but planning on running later on today. OSU is back -- their wi-fi is up and running, but I'm still using the wireless that we brought with us (just in case. Remember, OSU guys are the ones that played golf out here using white balls on the white salt). Anyway, OSU is going to put the fixed motor in the car today and run either later today or tomorrow morning.
Burkland is two hours from having the motors buttoned up and running. Hope to get in runs today (note I said runs -- hope springs eternal).
And the Ack team isn't responding to radio calls, so nobody knows the latest from them.
