We have lots of pics, the only problem is I cant seem to get them downloaded into the computer, and even if I did I dont know how to post them. I'm an OF (old fart), and seriously technology challenged. I will get it all figured out when I get home.

Hi,
My name is Greg Stokes of the New Zealand Hot Rod Magazine.
I am very good friends with Chris, Lesley & Lincoln Harris of Napier New Zealand, with their C/Gas Roadster Record Holder and also Garth Hogan, Gary Martin and Andrew Rea with their XF Blown Fuel Roadster Record Holder.
As you already know, there is a large group of Kiwis competing at Bonneville and we have been posting daily and sometimes hourly updates and photos at:
http://www.nz-hotrod.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=49160#post49160

I am here to contribute more and eventually would like to run a Model A powered land speed car.

Best regards,
Greg Stokes

The fact that I'm posting this on Wednesday is not good. One run and out! Ran an easy 163 on the special course and sheared the Torque Convertor bolts.

The purpose of this post is to praise the course workers and BNI Board. During the Drivers Meeting Roy Creel said he was worried about the 3 Course set-up, and the confusion that might result. Everything was extremely well organized. The courses were GREAT !!!!!

We weren't planning on running on Monday but decided to try the "Special" course when we heard the 2nd and 3rd mile were excellent (and they were!). Wait in line was just about an hour. A little longer on Tuesday, but not bad.

What a GREAT Meet! Still 4 days to go.

P.S. Talked with Sum and Hooley on Tuesday. They qualified over 250 and set the record Wednesday morning. GOOD job guys!!

Tom

Congrats to Shane on the 1350 P/P record!
He was the first that I presented a hat to (with Larry Volk and Jason McVicar).

Leslie Porterfield ran a 208 on my 205 1350 M/BF NAKED record.  She is in inpound and looking to boot me out of the book in the morning.

Martin Doerfler took his 500cc A/PG Triumph to a new record of 115.081.  Congrats Martin!
Get off the stove Grandad.  You're too old to be riding the range.

Thanks to everyone who's been taking the time to share what they can about what's been happening.

If anyone is able to post any pictures of Chauvin Emmons' roadster, I'd like to see it. Thanks again.

What's been going on in the new rear-engine roadster class?

Leslie Porterfield ran a 208 and backed it up with a 205 for a 206.75 (roughly) on my 1350 M/BF record.

To sum it up,

The first woman to enter the Bonneville 200 MPH Club on a conventional motorcycle (non streamliner).

The third to enter the club on a motorcycle.

The 14th woman in the club.

The 25th person to enter any 200 MPH club "Naked" in the world.

The best part of this deal in my opinion is that this was not a rent-a-ride.  The bike was built for her, she worked her way up in speed through her licensing runs.  She obtained her A license with a 203 then ran the 208 on her first record attempt.

She will be on the salt in the morning with gearing for some higher MPH.

Ya know, I suppose that I oughta let you know that Nancy and I are still alive.  We've been busy. . .

We've each made a pair of runs on the ZX14R that was our street ride until last week.  The race bikes weren't done -- so we ran the street one through tech and went out tohave fun.  It's got all of 200 miles on the motor -- and runs in the 180-184 range.  And that's WITH a "speedo-healer" to overcome whatever programming might be installed by the factory to limit speed.  We're having fun, so it's all okay.  Todd (narider) and Deb (DahMurf) have each made a pair of licensing runs on the bike, too, and they're happier than two mortals oughta be.  Todd was set to make another run this afternoon 'til the winds came up and the course was shut down.  They're staying in a fancy casino room -- and that place evidently wants the guests to spend time downstairs at the gaming room, not in the lodging rooms -- no internet service is available!  We're at the Econo Lodge -- free high speed wi-fi. Whatever, now you know why you haven't heard from them.

Salt Talks was fun as ever, we've sold a bunch of Salt Talks shirts, landracing.com shirts, and landracing.com bumper stickers.  I'll take a photo of each and post it -- so you can start ordering your own shirts and stickers.  For those of you that asked us to reserve shirts for you -- we've done that, and have your shirts all separated and held aside.  You'll need toget back to us and give us mailing addresses so we can send 'em.  Either kind of shirt is $15 for sizes M-L-XL, $16 for 2XL, $17 for 3XL (I don't think we've got very many of the larger sizes), plus a couple of bucks for shipping for each shirt.  I'll mail 'em -- so send mailing addresses and pay by Paypal (on the front page of the site).  Stickers are $2 each, three for $5, and postage is about $2 for the first two or three and up to $4 for about ten stickers.

Nancy and I will be out here for the next couple of weeks, but will try to ship any orders we get while here.  Once we're home we'll ship whatever we haven't already sent.  We fully expect to need to re-order landracing.com shirts -- this first batch was just to get started.  And as for Salt Talks shirts -- please buy as many as you will, 'cause we need to recoup the investment we put into them.  Hey, here's a further deal -- the shirts are $15, like I said, and we picked up a batch of past years Salt Talks shirts from Jon Amo out here -- so send the site a $20 plus shipping and I'll include one of the previous shirts.  I don't know which we've got lots of -- I hope it won't matter to you. If you specify a past year I'll try -- but don't fret if I can't fill that order.

Best wishes for now -- gotta go out to the Wendover Community Racer Appreciation/SCTA/BNI Volunteer Banquet.  It starts in about an hour.
