Question about Speedweek 2010
« on: December 30, 2009, 11:53:52 AM »
According to the SCTA website Speedweek is August 14-20. (14th being a Saturday) I was hoping someone could tell me what day racing starts? Is the 14th the first day of racing or is it inspectin/ registration? I called the SCTA office but they are closed for the holidays. Thank you in advance!!!

The pits open and inspection usually begin on Friday. Last year I believe they even opened earlier on Thursday maybe at noon.  Have not heard the plan for this year but it would be no later that Friday morning unless weather caused a problem.

racing is the 14th -20th    7 days---inspection (tech) starts the day before (the 13th)  i heard that this year tech may start on the 12th--but please dont quote me on that--keep checking the scta web site   www.scta-bni.org    for news updates                      willie buchta

if you go to the scta website --go to bonneville---go to documents---go to speed week schedule---you will see last years schedule   this years will most likely be the same

The current plan is to start inspection on the 12th. Weather conditions permitting of course. You do not have to be at inspection at the very moment it opens, inspection continues all week.
