Wheel well liners

My CGC 79'Mustang as produced from the factory came equipped with wheel well liners. It doesn't have them in it now and I wonder if class rules would call for me finding a set and re-installing them. Also wonder, if rules don't require them would there be any aero advantage with or without them?
