Ride from SLC airport to Speedweek on Friday August 10th
« on: June 14, 2007, 10:18:56 AM »
Okay, racers.

My girlfriend is arriving into Salt Lake City Airport on Friday August 10th about noon.  Any of all y'all out there be able to give her a ride from the airport out to Speedweek?

PM me or call me at 1-888-jim-knap (546.5627) if you could help out here.

She doesn't take up much room, but the back of a motorcycle is probably not going to work

And thanks,

Jim

Cab it to the pick up spot for the Casino bus and get a  free ride.
It sure beats Greyhound.

Ron Pruett's wife took a cab from SLC airport a few years ago and it was around $300.00. She never did tell him. There is only one Greyhound each way daily. The shuttle might be an option but make sure they have an OK with the hotel :-o

You would actually trust these guys with your girl friend  8-) .

We are going by there on Thursday if she came a day early.  I had a friend from Australia that is a trucker.  He got a cab from the airport and told the driver to take him to the nearest truck stop.  There he immediately got a ride to Wendover in a truck.  I don't know if I would recommend that in this case though.

Good meeting you and your new driver at El Mirage,

Sum

I will be going by there on Friday. I dont have any plans as to what time so that is totally open. I will be in SLC for the 8th & 9th visiting and then leaving for Wendover on the 10th. Let me know if I can help out.

Thanks, Dcarr,

My girlfriend will probably e-mail you.

And JackD the problem with the casino shuttles seems to be that they leave before the planes land, or with too close a connection to make it.

BTW, I don't want to end this thread just because we got one Yes.  "Things" does happen you know, so it would be good to have a back-up.

And, hey, as long as I am asking, (and not to be pushing, you unnerstan' ) does anybody have an extra seat on an airplane from LAX or SFO on Friday morning?  ;-)

Jim,

I would contact the Nish Team, Volk Team or even Race Deck they all live in Salt Lake and have many members of their teams, It would be a good start in finding someone also for a backup plan.

Do you think she would mind being the primary rider on the motorcycle in tow behind the truck, we wont attach to many grease spots or to many pieces of string to her...

Th Casino bus schedule that goes to major points around SLC is independant of anything at the airport.
The Casino can send you the locations and schedule.
Now the cab makes more sence.
Their is no pre-registration required and you just get on the bus when it rolls up.
It works just like the Barona bus.

I wouldn't know about the Barona bus, Jack.  I "invest" my $$ and my time elsewhere.

"TRY OUR" would have been more proper, but I was on break and not getting paid.
My typist has quite another standard and gets paid well.

I'm flying in around 6:20pm on the 10th and my pops is driving down from Boise to pick me up and drive us over.  If you can't line something up I'm sure there will be room and and maybe some over-3.2% beer in his vanagon.

Hi, I'm arriving at the airport at 1:45.  I have a friend who is taking me out to Bonneville right after that.  There should be plenty of room for another rider. My phone # is 919-270-3510. The offer is good up until the time we leave the airport.
We gave Tonya Turk a ride to the airport last year and she's still speaking to me, we can't be too boring.

Aloha,

I'm Jim Knapp's girlfriend, who needs the ride from SLC airport to Bonneville on Aug. 10.  Thanks for the generous offer to ride with you, leaving the airport around 1:45 p.m.  I have another offer for a noon departure, but if that falls through I'd love to catch a ride with you.  I have your phone #, so I'll give you a call if I need the ride, ok?  Thanks so much,
