The Motor Home can stay (like the race trailers) just you can not stay with it... that would be kinda like camping...

Just Guessing  :cheers:

There is a RV Repair business around the corner on the main drag that has rv storage and would probably welcome you.  For those in need of long-term camper storage there is also the option of a car dealer with a secure storage lot nearby.  The two campgrounds I plan to checkout when I get up there are on the opposite side of town.  The first is west and just a bit off the highway a few exits away.  The other is Southwest and on a lake but is a bit longer drive.  Both are lot closer than my previous Maxton home base at a campground in  Lumberton.

There is a Walmart "supercenter" in Wilmington. According to Walmart's website it's up to zoning laws and the manager's discretion if you can park an RV there.  Call and ask and find out what he drinks. EVERYBODY drinks in Ohio!!!!

I thought that I would update this thread with the information that I received by Private Message, when I asked the camping question for our Blue Bird group and also for the others wishing to camp near the track;

We are working to secure that area for camping. You would be able to stay there from Thursday night thru Sunday. There is a Walmart about one mile away if this doesn't work out. We should know in a week or so.

We will be able to use the parking lot across the road from the race track for camping.

To see the camping area that Joe is referring to I made up a flier for the (Blue Bird) Wanderlodge Owners Group group that can be viewed at http://www.wanderlodgeownersgroup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12523 (http://www.wanderlodgeownersgroup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12523)

This is a repeat of a question that I had asked earlier on the Ohio Mile Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/groups/243660202347845/ (http://www.facebook.com/groups/243660202347845/) , but did not get any response to;

"I know that myself along with many others will be dry camping across the street from the track and using golf carts, ATV's and possibly other non-street licensed modes of transportation back and forth the approximately 0.65 mile to the track entrance, will there be any legal issues involved with the local and state authorities to contend with when doing this on Airborne Road, or is there enough of a shoulder to use for this purpose? Also the http://www.ecta-lsr.com/ Updates page still shows "Camping - There will not be any camping at the track. We are working with the Airpark to establish a camping area near the track entrance."

Since I first asked the question about the ATV's, I have tried to find out more information and found one article "ATV's in Ohio.
"All-Terrain Vehicles: Laws, Regulations and Rules to Ride By"
http://ohioline.osu.edu/aex-fact/0597.html

Any further insite on this issue wil be greatly appreciated

Parking for oversized vehicles on the track side is limited.  You are encouraged to leave your motor home in the camping area.  If you leave your motor home on the track side during the day, you are likely to lose your spot in the designated camping area.  There is absolutely no overnight camping on the track side.

I had already planned on leaving the race car and trailer on the track pit area just like we did at Bonneville and riding my ATV back and forth to the bus that will be parked in the camping area on Airborne Road, that is why I have asked the question about it being legal to do that on the ATV. I'm sure that I won't be the only one that will want to do that.

Cowan Lake State Park is Beautiful  I was there yesterday morning.  Very worth the 9 mile drive.  Large Rv's and campers would be about a 15mile drive, as I wouldn't try to get an rv through the southern side, its very narrow and winding.

Attention Larry. Are you going to have your rig in Ohio next weekend?
We'd like to reserve a spot for you next to a (smaller) number of Geezers. Brian and John Pranger will be there with family members.....
