In this article, Brenda Bowen continues to state that "racers" are also responsible for the decrease in the depth of the salt. Has anyone seen any data supporting this? Of course every car that drives on and off the salt flats takes a small amount with them, but in the big picture is that even measurable? Does the mere act of racing cause less accumulation of salt?
I just don't see how we are the ones responsible for the salt crust decreasing as much and as rapidly as it has been?
