CAN do yourself and SHOULD do yourself are two different things.
If all you need is a blotchy looking anodized part, knock your self out. The number of ways you can screw up anodizing is unlimited. If you are looking for a professional looking part, give it to someone else.
I suppose when you finish you are going to properly dispose of all these toxic chemicals?
New aluminum anodizes well. The older and dirtier it is, the less likely you will get an acceptable part. If it has ever had contact with oil then don't bother.
If you are planning on doing color, plan on lots of practice parts.
Lots of work for very little return. I'd let someone else do it.
