The night crew at that BK was weak. The day crew is much better. We tried the Mexican Food joint at the freeway and it was OK. Very busy and very friendly. The service made up for a shortcoming or two. Food wasn't great but it was OK. Pretty cheap too.

It is an alky motor, period. The HP is more than enough to do the job and that is with very little boost. No nitro needed in the 7 setup, they have plenty on tap with alky.

Per the BUB 7 website, the 3000cc motor makes 420hp normally aspirated, and 525hp under boost. So clearly there's plenty of power on tap just by upping the boost a few pounds. Maybe get crazy and go all the way to 10psi?  :-D

Thanks again Jon, Ray, et al for the great coverage.

I wouldn't go to Mildred's or Trino's Tacos.
I have heard to many bad stories about not running a
clean place or hand washing at either one.
I have relatives that live out there and they have seen and
heard it first hand.
Just a word of caution.

A quick update on BUB 7:
Our Turbo burned up last night at 320mph. The bike looks good and handled great down the course. We have a spare turbo, so we are in repair mode now and will be shooting for an afternoon run.

Good morning VietN uhhh...campers...or should I say "campeurs" since the first thing today is the Lamtrac/GForce Snowmobile.

Apparently they got their part machined and are ready for a run.  They had it fired up and for what I could tell, it sounded real good.  I know zero about snowmobiles.

But they were polishing and shining it up as they put the skins on and they're just about to head out to the course.  I'm gonna stay here in the pit area so I can keep an eye on the other teams.  Slim and Nancy aren't here yet so you'll have to put up with me.  Photos:

I'm here and awake.

The snomo is on the course and readying for a run.  They don't need much run-up -- so are stafrting about a mile or two before the lights, will run through them and a mile or two, then turn around, service, and come back for the return run.

Bub is repairing, per Eric's post, B Bullet is fixing to put in the repaired motor, Speed Demono pit ius buslting with activity, jet bike crew and bike aren't on the salt (but the pit's still here and so is a spare motor).  Missile won't run 'til tomorrow -- will fine-tune and  spiff up the car.

Snomo is underway.

Entry speed 164

Kilo   186

Mile 185

Exit 207

Snowmobile is stopped.  Course watchers say they've never seen  a sled go that fast.

Corrected speeds:   Entry  164.726

Kilo    186.768

Mile      185.535

Exit      207.219

Fast -- considering the rider is belly-=down about a foot above the salt -- EXTRA-fast.  Good run, G-Force!

G-Force snowmobile crew is partying quite agressively after that run.

Now for the rest of the story:

First (and most important to me) is that I don't have an FM radio...and that's where all the chatter goes on.  So I'm pretty much flying bind until I can overhear something or ask someone.  I asked Mike Jr. again this morning and he said he didn't have any...although one was requested for me.

Moving on, the rest of the teams:

Demon:  Half nekkid and work proceeding, probably on the motor/trans replacement.

Missile:  also half nekkid....do Mormons run around semi-nude?   Hmmm...point to ponder.  When I shot the phot, about all that was going on was some housecleaning...not much more happening now.

Bullet:  Thrash mode at the moment.  I dunno if the motor's been brought back (doubt it, bt ya never know.)

Jet bike:  Just returning to the pits with the bike on the trailer...when O shot the photo, there was no one here...except for the engine cover.

Rogers Camaro: Just sittin.  They just recently (5 minutes ago) arrived and opened up the trailer.

That's all for now.
