What are your goals this year??
« on: January 12, 2008, 01:52:42 PM »
Curious as to what everyone's goals are this year?

I would really like to see 175 mph this year if I go fully faired. That would be a big achievement for me considering I built the bike. If that goal is reached I will be going after the records in class at El Mirage and Bonneville.

Our original goal when we built this car was to go 300.  Obviously it is easier said than done for us anyway, but we did tack over 300 once and then capluie.  Averaged 288 in the last mile.  This year with a new and advanced set up (we think) I think our new goal is 309 with a record.  JL222 might have a different opinion though.  That would put our car in the #1 doorslammer catagory.  Wishful thinking but it is a huge goal. :-D

I'd really, really, like to ride our nitrous bike.  The new crank was ordered in November 2006.  Hmmmn, we're now -- what, 14 months later and still no crank?  Just last week the factory said "The tool we need to cut the cam drive gear -- which gear is the only thing not done -- is due here today".  Then the guy had the balls to say to us "Of course, I've been saying it's due today for quite a while now, haven't I?"

Other goals -- 135 on the Turbo 250 bike, and Nancy getting her "A" license, and maybe no leftover food at Salt Talks.

5 miles under full power, 2 passes each car. Speeds will be what they will be.

375 kilometers per hour converted to miles per hour comes out to 233 mph.  I thought you already went faster than that  8-),

Make a pass down the salt under power. Considering we were at "Zero" on Jan 1, I think that's the best I can hope for. None the less, I'd like to:

1) Make the BUB meet

2) Set an AMA record in 650cc M-PBG (currently open. Makes it easier that way.)

3) Go over 120 MPH. Our eventual goal is 140.

4) OK, if I allow myself to dream big, after BUB we'll hit World Finals and set the SCTA/BNI record as well (currently at 51.410)

But mostly, I just want to get the bike built and make a pass or two down the salt. Speed will come later.
