Not to hijack the thread, but the mention of the Arrivetts prompted a question -
Whatever happened to their big, silver doorstop shaped car?

If this is the car you are refering to, I believe Don Ferguson bought it.

      I like Rex's list of 500 mph contenders more then Franky's.The saga of the Burklands and their set backs and unexpected breakage and crash etc.underscore the difficulty of just going out and running 500. Chet's experience should serve as a reality check for Doug. All of these cars have great promise and a real competition might generate corporate interest.(some of those poor oil companies) I don't think corporate sponsorship at that level will effect Landspeed racing in a negative way. The best ever TV on Landracing was the Worlds Fastest MOtorcycle drama. It would sure be bitchin' to see something of that order on 4 or 5 cars battling for 500mph.

That's not the car.
It's finished aluminum or stainless in a wedge shape with spill plates on the sides.
