The trip to Loring was an adventure to say the least....!!!!
Me, Bradley and Brooke Everhart headed out on Wednesday around 6pm, arrived at Presque Isle on Thursday at 11pm.
Tech on Friday went great, after 3 inspectors crawled (and some drooled) all over the Stude we got OK'd to 200+
First run was the Mandatory track rookie drop one license class run, I was to keep it below 150.... oh well I ran 153 for my shakedown pass,, all was straight and smooth,, handled well even in a little angled head wind.
Second run was the parachute run,, was told to go over 160 and below 170... Ran good hit the chip just past the mile marker,, pulled chute early (166 on GPS). went thru the traps for a 162.xxx pass,,, man that chute was fun.
Because I was on the 8200 chip just past the mile,,, I decided to change rear gears,,, Bradley slid under the car and took out the 365 gears and put in the 340's... my chart said that should get me 178...
Made a pass (with a driver error bucking coughing take off) I hate that clutch... charged hard hit all my shift point exactly and went thru the traps at 175.25o and man did the chute work great again,,, it was fun ONCE I GOT MY BREATH BACK... went thru the traps at 8150 rpms,,, so if I had have had a better start that could have been a 178 or so pass..
All in all I was very pleased and I got my "B" License too.
the only next taller gear I had was to tall for a standing start.. so we called it a day and loaded for home about 3pm.
Hope to have some pics soon.
