Bend In The Road / Camping..... new places?

We didn't make it last year but heard there was some consternation about camping at the Bend In The Road... are they frowning on camping at the Bend?

A couple of years ago there was another campground up towards the hills, left off the main road before Land's End... is that still open this year?

Also heard of camping at the Museum site in Bendover.... can anyone elaborate on that site and how much room there is?

The hu0-huu about camping at the Bend was sorta misplaced.  There's plenty of free camping there -- just know that it's a bit more BLM-regulated than in the past.  But you're welcome to camp there.  The BLM would be very happy if you camp off towards the hills, though - that's correct.  And there's lots of room in the Museum parking lot in town by the Carquest.  Free, but Mayor Mike won't turn away donations.

We'll have toilets at the Bend (both sides of the road) and Mike will have some at the Museum site.  Further depnonet sayeth not.
