Yes folks leave their stuff there. There's usually some people who sleep on-site in campers and they keep an eye out. It never hurts to lock up but I don't think there's ever been a problem in the past.
The registration trailer is orange (?) and you'll look for Tim Kelly. It's pretty low-key, everyone will point you in the right direction.
